Ill admit it ive been persuaded to keep the roof at its standard hieght. There are reasons for this though , Firstly i want to put in a roof mounted console (which i designed and half finnished for my BAJA) to keep all the switchs gauges and stereo out of the way. Secondly i want to put in a roll cage of sorts and Thirdly im not exactly short and driveing the buggy with the roof on is a neck acheing experience so a chopped moggy would be even worse!
Due to all this ive had to change a fair few things on the bodywork like the tooth grill, It just wouldnt look right on a standard hieght car . However this doesnt mean its going to look standard.
The good thing is the rebiuld has started with me dragging the old lass out into the sunlight kicking and screaming like a vampire in a bad 80's horror |

So here are two rough sketchs of what im thinking right now. Its bound to change a bit but the basics are all there . Im planning on frenching all the rear lights, Moving the indicators into the grill shell ,Forward hingeing the bonnet and sealing the boot up from the outside and smooth filling it (ill access the boot via the back seat) ignore the paint on the first sketch as again its just an idea i was playing with. The idea was to "ghost" on the flames in a single colour and adding flames to the roof ive done something similar on a bike recently and it looked pretty good but i need to decide weather to go for "subtle" or "in your face" on this car
Ive never done subtle im not very good at it! |
