From start to finish she took me just under a year to build and most of that was taken up with wiring mistakes and getting the DVLA to make a decision (not an easy task - typical government agency lots of buck passing) and if I went into all the troubles I had I'd need at least two websites but at least I now have a better idea of the SVA test than the people who are enforcing it. I know this is sounding bitter but building this car has proven a few things to me:
A: the SVA test is pointless as my car is probably in better condition than any so called "normal" car on the road B: the test is another way of getting money from builders and C: the people in DVLA have no idea what they are doing
When a faceless person at the DVLA SVA department describes the chassis of the car as "the bottom bit" you have to wonder don't you!!! |
