Although this is not a complete masterpiece of musical filmmaking, this is still a highly enjoyable, highly recommended film based upon Roald Dahl's classic children's story. Gene Wilder is superb as Willy Wonka, the owner of a candy factory, who, for one day, opens the doors to five special children. The hijinks that ensue are priceless, although the film does take a while in getting going. All in all, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is a classic for all ages.
