DESPERADO

1995 *1/2 103 mins.

This follow-up to Robert Rodriguez's film El Mariachi, there is so much action that the viewer is bored to death. This is, truly, a trial to sit through. The story is simply this: a man (Antonio Banderas) carries a guitar case full of guns. He wants to kill the people who murdered his girlfriend. En route, he encounters Salma Hayek. Blah, blah, blah. The only really good part of this film is a hilarious joke told by Quentin Tarantino. Followed-up by Once Upon a Time in Mexico.
Rated R for strong violence, language, simulated sex, and nudity.
