How about Kristy! I think everyone would agree that she did a fantastic
job. Each clinic went great. Kristy was very patient with the kids and
covered all four strokes with a little extra time spent on breaststroke V of
course. It is a rare opportunity for our kids to get to spend time with a
real Olympian. Kristys talk at the banquet was definitely A+ material.
The main point of her talk was that it took many, many disappointments and
failures before we knew of Kristy Kowal the Olympian and World Champion.
I had not met Kristy until Friday. She was a great guest making herself at
home and she and my wife talked about teaching for hours. After the banquet
we all stayed up until almost midnight (thats really late for me) and
talked about lots of things from snakes, spiders, training and the
Olympics. She had some great stories to tell about the chemistry of the
team and all the things they did while in Australia. My point is that
Kristy Kowal is the real thing V a very together young lady that happens to
be a great athlete. She has over 40 hours of credits above what it takes to
graduate at Georgia with a 3.7 GPA! That is the way she had to schedule
student teaching and compete at the same time. All our kids that met Kristy
will be inspired by her story.
