contradicting morals

Ricky Raccoon was so excited.   Today was his first day of school!   When the school bell rang, he was the first one in his seat.

"Class," announced his teacher, Miss Dogood, "if you learn nothing else from me all year, I want you to know that you are special and unique, each and every one of you."

This left Ricky feeling very happy and fulfilled indeed, and when the school day came to a close, he skipped merrily home to tell his parents about his teacher's profound statement.

The next day at school, Miss Dogood stood up in front of the class and made another announcement.

"Class," she said, "if you learn nothing else from me all year, I want you to know that even though we all look different on the outside, we're really all the same."

Ricky Raccoon was taken aback.   He was a young and impressionable little mammal!   He couldn't take this kind of contradiction!   He leapt out of his seat and ran out of the classroom, screaming unintelligebly. In his confusion, he ended up running off a steep, rocky cliff to his doom.
