Here On Earth: Chapter 8

"Hey, Kevin." Nick spoke softly into the telephone.
"Hi, Nick." Kevin's voice was wobbly.
"So I guess you know."
"Yeah." Was all that Kevin could get out before beginning to sob into the phone.
"Kev, I'm so sorry. I know how close you two were." Nick couldn't think of anything else to say. There was a long silence.
"Do the other guys know?" Nick finally asked.
"Yeah. I called them." Kevin managed to choke out.
"Do you want me to let you go?"
"Yeah."
"Alright, Kev. Bye."
"Wait. How's Sarah?"
"She's, uh," Nick looked out to the living room. "I think she may be in denial. She hasn't cried too much except for when she saw him."
"Take care of her for me. And…for Brian. Take care, bro." Kevin hung up the phone and left Nick staring into the receiver.
"How was he?" Brian asked Nick.
"Broken up." Nick hung up the receiver and gladly fell into Eva's arms. They were back in Nick's room. "I feel so bad." His voice was muffled against Eva's chest.
"It's okay, baby." She rubbed his back soothingly. "It's okay."
Nick had just gotten through calling Eva's parents, Brian's parents and Kevin, having to break the news to all of them.
"Hey, you guys?" Nick picked his head up. "I don't wanna be rude, but can I have some privacy now? I wanna get in the shower." Brian and Eva nodded, them slowly faded away. Nick sat on the bed, staring into where Eva was standing, then got up from the bed and got into the shower, satisfied that they had really left.
Nick stepped into the hot water and closed the shower door. He rolled his head around on his neck, letting the steaming water ease his muscles.
"Sex in the shower," Nick looked up and saw only Eva's eyes, then watched her appear in front of him, completely nude. "Heard it was good. I've always wondered if those people were telling the truth." Nick answered her with a kiss.
