Here are some of my favorite poems
"Yesterday" It seems just like yesterday that we first started to speak and I never knew what to say everytime my knees got weak And now here we are together hand in hand in your eyes I stare with you I will always stand No one knows about tomorrow but I see us together spending my life with you me and you forever Copyrighted Johnstreet 7/26/01
"Jesus" He hung on a rugged piece of wood naked He hung there, 'til He died He hung there because He understood what He died for 33 years, He tried He was placed in a borrowed tomb there He wrestled with Satan He told Satan about his doom for three days He wrestled with him On the third day woman came to the tomb that the stone was rolled away the guards were on the ground, and an angel saying "He is risen today" Copyrighted 1999 Michael Lumpkin
"Faithful One" When things are going wrong I know that You're there You have always been the Faithful One even when I feel that no one cares No matter how I feel and whatever happens You show me a love that's real a love that has no condition I can always count on You and in You I place my trust to be there no matter what I do a strong faith is a must Copyrighted 1999 John Street

| "The Priceless Gift" The priceless gift of life is love, For with the help of God above Love can change the human race And make this world a better place-- For love dissolves all hate and fear And makes our vision bright and clear So we can see and rise above Our pettiness on wings of love. | "Remember" Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you planned: Only remember me; you understand It will be late counsel then or pray- Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad. Copyrighted 2001 Christina Rossetti |
"Afraid to Fall" I'm in 'like' And afraid to stand close to the edge. I fell once And I'm afraid to trust again. I don't know what makes me think I'm any different to you. If I place my heart in your hands; How can I be sure it won't be mistreated or abused? I was taught not to hold back; To give it my all. But I'm so afraid to fall. Before I get in too deep ANd I'm unable to turn around; I want to know you're will to hold your ground. Please tell me it's ok. Take hold of my hand And know I'll be there for you When you're unable to stand. This is up to you. It's your call. If you can be trusted, Then I'm ready to fall. Copyright Barbara L. Meadors
