If I Could Spend One Day With You
If I could spend one day with you, here is what I would want to do....
Look into your eyes, so you would see, just how much you mean to me. Then I would take your hand,go for a walk in the sand. Tickle you and make a face, then dare you for a race. Laughing loud the whole day through, telling jokes, and a secret or two. Share with you a quiet place, where I go when I need my space. Take you around to see my friends, hoping that this day never ends. Go to the park, maybe the zoo, wouldn't really matter if I'm with you. I would ask you everything a daughter should know, what do you like and where do you go? I would tell you all my worries, then smile and listen to your stories. I would make every moment last, because I know the time goes fast. I would take you sailing out in the sea, wonder if you can fish as good as me? Challenge you at every game, til champ was my only name. I would tell you I love you and see your smile, I know that memory would last a while. I would sit with you at the end of the pier, I would be so thrilled to have you here. Then, before we said good-bye, I would remind myself not to cry. I would give you a hug, and a kiss on the cheek, by then I am sure the tears would leak. But, that's ok too, as long as I could spend... one day with you...

In Her Dreams
Under your shirt, at rest on a chair, snuggled by animals, was a little face there. Her smile was a big one when her eyes looked at yours, but they wanted to close, they were ready for sleep. This picture was perfect, I know, for it seems, her Daddy, was sure to be in her dreams.

Just Dad
Today I feel the little girl in me crying in me, for dad to come, for dad to hold me in his strong arms, to feel the warmth of his chest. Today the little girl cries from not being held, and no matter how hard I try, I cannot hold her myself, and no matter what I try, she doesn't want anything else, just Dad. Crying in me for dad to come, and for Dad to pick me up, to hear the comfort of his breath, to be held and feel so safe. Today the little girl howls, and no matter what I try, I cannot hold her myself, and no matter how hard I try, she doesn't want anything else, just Dad.
