From The Heart
How Could I Have Ever?

Who could have ever known,
I'd still feel so much pain in my heart.
I would have never guessed,
this would still be tearing me apart.

There hasn't been a day,
when I have not thought about you.
All the memories that we made,
and all the laughter too.

You were my friend,
and that was always to be,
through good times and bad.
together you and me.

You showed me I could laugh,
when everything seemed so bad.
You taught me how to get past the hurt,
for this I will always be glad.

I learned from you to smile,
when all I felt was sorrow.
How was I to know,
there'd never be tomorrow?

To My Friend

To My Friend,

I fell down a casm of gloom and dispair,
called for some help, but no one was there.
I tried to ascend, time and again,
but I couldn't do it alone, I needed a friend.
Then a rope fell from the edge of the light,
A friendly voice said "Just hold on tight."
I had forgotten the life outside my pit,
and although I was back, it still hurt a bit.
And the hole was still there, waiting for me,
but I didn't want to go back to misery.
Yet, my friend wasn't done, not by a mile.
"It'll only get better," he said with a smile.
He filled the hole with laughter and covered it with hugs,
he planted some flowers, protected them from "bugs."
"Soon it will fade 'til its part of this land,"
he said as he put some seeds in my hand.
"If  your path becomes dead and barren ground,
take out these seeds and spread them around.
Because friends of mine don't walk on dirt,
they walk on flowers, to soften the hurt.
If the ground is too hard, nothing will grow,
I'll help you across, we'll just take it slow."
Now I walk in sunshine, on carpeted trails,
And see that the power of friendship always previals.
There's no life in the hole, and I would've died,
I thank god for this friend which he supplied.
He's good hearted right to the core,
I owe him my life, my friendship and more.
So this message I send,
Thanks Sean, for being my friend....
