Present Koran different from original
Koranic verses were memorized and passed down from generation to generation. When it came to the stage of writing, according to Islamic scholars, there were doubts on certain verses in respect of their purity.
Those who were in authority of committing them into writing found doubts as to their originality and purity. Therefore good number of Koranic verses were rejected and not taken into Koran. So the Koran as it is, not the complete Koran.
Therefore vital verses were missing in Koran. Definitely Allah do not want only the Muslims to survive and rest of the mankind to be annihilated by carrying out a holy war or Jihad. Missing verses of Koran could and should explain that and as they are missing it cannot be helped.
When certain verses were refused into Koran just because those in authority found that those verses were doctored, altered or added etc. etc, it goes without saying that there would have been other verses that were doctored, altered or added etc. etc found its way into Koran.
There should have been a kind of criteria the authority was going by: some were rejected because some custodians were not reliable. Some were taken in because they were reliable. These yardsticks were relative, incredible, not right and not foolproof. Some verses were defective and others being apparently doctored and for that reason they were rejected. Still, there should have been some doctored and altered verses passing through criteria because those in authority were not hundred per cent above board. They were humane and therefore there is likelihood of their making mistakes. There are topmost judges of the Supreme Court throughout the world who have sentenced innocent people to death after deliberating days and weeks over the issue. On the other hand Koran is meant only for guidance and that was dealt very well later.
That apart, rejection of certain Koranic verses being an accepted fact, it is clear, that there should have been definite gaps in the knowledge which Koran doles out. Because, all the Koranic verses are not there, a fact which cannot be contested. That was definitely the reason why Muslims found themselves to be in conflict with rest of the humanity. If sheer application of Koranic teachings make them in conflict with rest of the humanity, that means there is something definitely gone wrong.
More than that, there there are varying interpretations on the same Islamic principle and this article is going into it seriously at the latter part of it. Hence it become necessary that that Muslims should try to learn from other religion like Judaism which was the religion of Ebrahim or Abraham, the common ancestor of both Jews and Muslims. Whether, Muslims disliked Jews or not, they have to agree that the Jews also tried to maintain purity of their religion, as they did.
Buddha said: "Any body who thinks only my religions is true and others false are definitely in the wrong.."
Buddha in original Pali cannon on that says thus: ““Idam Satyam, Anggna Mogam.”
Koran was meant only for guidance
Allah mentions in the Quran in Chapter 39 verse 41, “verily we have sent down to you the book for the mankind in truth. So whoever accepts guidance, it is only for himself and he who goes astray, he goes astray only against himself.”
In innumerable other places in Quran, Allah mentions that it is a book of guidance. Un fortunately, some “Muslim scholars” are not using the Quran as a book of guidance but concocting opinions (fatwas) and attributing it to Quran.
What Muslim brothers forgot
Most of the troubles of Muslims began because of forgetting the fact that Islam was a continuation of Judaism or what is called original religion. Abraham or Ebrahim was the common ancestor of both Jews and Muslims. God ordered Abraham and all his descendents to circumcise.
Accordingly his two sons: Issac and Ismail were circumcised as did all their descendents. Those who came down from Issac were Jews and Ismail was the ancestor of Arabs who later became Muslims.
Abraham began a new religion and way of life worshipping no idols which were inherited by both sons and that Mecca mosque was built by Ebrahim, himself. And this was the beginning of Islam.
Delhi University Law Professor Thahir Mohammed, renowned authority of Islamic affairs said that there were at least 124,000 sages lived before the coming of Prophet Mohammed. Among them were a large number of Prophets which included famous Jewish prophets like Moses as well as other Biblical sages. Even Jesus Christ is considered by Muslims as a prophet. Jesus's mother Virgin Mary was considered the most respected women in the Islamic tradition and Koran itself vouched for her virginity at the time of conception of Jesus.
But now the Muslims have forgot all that. They do not have slightest of regard for the teachings of Jesus or the revelations that God made through Moses.
To quote Koly Quran (Sura 2 V 62):
"Those who believe in Quran.
And those who follow Jewish scriptures
And those Christians and Serbians And those who believe in Allah
And the last day And work righteousness Shall have their reward. With their Lord on them, there shall be no fear, Nor shall they grieve"
This Quranic verse shows that Jews, Christians Serbians as well as those believe in Allah will be saved.
Muslims are supposed to read the Bible but Muslims do not read the Bible and prevent if any other Muslim wanted to read it on the ground of having no proper Bible is available. Present Bible according them was tampered with and doctored. But they never say that the substance is missing If the Muslims are encouraged to read the Bible there would have been good understanding between religions. When there is some conflicting situation in the scriptures that is in Bible and Koran, Muslims could give Koran supercedence. But Musims should not totally discourage reading the Bible. This is against Islam. In all the non Muslim countries Koran is availble for reading but in Muslim countries, scriptures of other faiths are not freely available and they strongly teach Jihadist ideologies. Because the available Koran is not complete. Some verses have not taken into it. Human brotherhood must definitely be pat of it. If at least Bible is allowed freely in Muslim countries that would promote brotherhood among all peoples. In Pakistan, if a Muslim becomes a Christian, he could not practice that religion freely. He may even be killed. At least to begin with free use of Bible must be allowed and keep reminding the Muslims that Islam was the continuation of the original religion and according to Koran Christians, Serbians, Jews and those who believe in Allah would be saved as do the Muslims (Sura 2 V 62).
Prophet Mohammed not the last prophet
Once in 1998 or so, I seriously thought of becoming a Muslim. A Muslim Lawyer Yasin Omar gave me instructions. He told me one requirement to become a Muslim, is that the convert should accept that Prophet Mohammed is the last prophet and there would never be any more prophets. I could not accept that at all. I told Yasin to quote Koran to show that Prophet Mohammed was the last prophet and there would be no more prophets. He could not bring any Islamic authority to prove that point.
At latter stages, Yasin told me that "Mohammed being the last prophet" was in fact contested in a Pakistan court of law. He promised to give me the entire proceedings of the court but he failed to fullfil that promise and never told me of the outcome of the case. Yasin being a lawyer of Pakistani origin, he could get these documents in no time.
As there is no Koranic confirmation of Prophet Mohammed being the last, it is not right to say that Allah would not send any more prophets. No body has the right to say what Allah would do in the future especially when the Koran is silent about it.
If the Prophet Mohammed was born in 20 the century or so, he himself could have recorded everything without allowing them to pass down from one generation to another committing the verses to memory. Then there would be no various schools of thought on various Islamic principles. Hence, it become necessary that another prophet should come during these modern age so that the purity of the teaching could be maintain to the last letter.
In order get over the problem of Muslims being alienated, some kind of liberalization must be allowed into the faith in the light of knowldgegiven in the preceding paragraphs
Allah support that Islam enjoyed at the beginning stages when they built up Muslim empire embracing a larger part of the world, is not found now. They lost the brotherhood they had with Christians and Jews more than that the purity of the knowledge imparted by Almighty God (Allah). In order to reclaim their lost glory, they have to accept broader concepts of Islamic principles.
Hence Islam has to be reinterpreted and bring back the lost values in order that everybody can live together in brotherhood fitting into the modern era. It is very well known that Alexander the great or Napoleon Bonaparte who conquered and colonized large areas of earth treated there new subjects like brothers giving them responsibilities without trying to impose their religion.
Hence, broader interpretation of Koran would lead to better relation and cut alienation. This would also combat misinterpreted Jihadist ideology that led to 9/11 and 7/7 terror attacks in US and UK What is needed is to move beyond the tradition and bring core concepts of Islam in line with modern thinking.
Law for non Muslims to be at prayer
Newspapers of 25/08/2005 quoted Australia as saying that those who wanted to enforce Shariat law in Australia should leave Australia which wanted their security personnel to attend the Mosques to see what kind of teachings going on there. What their lectures are like. This is done for the sake of security.
The decision of the Australian authorities would have a far reaching impact on the practice of Islam, throughout the world. Muslims normally do not allow non-Muslims to be present especially at the time of prayer in the prayer room. Even otherwise, non-Muslims are not allowed into the prayer hall of the Mosque. If Australian government were to send security personnel to check what is happening there, that amounts to a new situation. If it is done in Australia, there is no reason why it cannot be done in other countries too, one can argue. What I mean, non-Muslims to be present in the prayer hall at the time of prayer. This is one way to build up some harmony between religions because all other religions allow that.
Jihadism contrary to Islam
Standing alongside Christian and Jewish leaders, Bhadawi condemned the London suicide bombing – carried out by three British men of Pakistan origin – as totally contrary to Islam.
In spite of that talk, Zaki Badawi, the founder of the Muslim College in London and the unofficial leader of the country’s Muslims, was refused entry at New York’s JFK airport when he arrived on Wednesday and hours after fruitless talks, returned to England.
This shows the alienation that Muslims now face throughout the world for misinterpreting Islam and following it.
On July 15, 2005, according to Reuter report: London, one of Britain’s leading Moslem theologians has been refused entry into United States just days after joining chorus of religious leaders London's 7/7 bomb blast that killed 54 people.
Fatwa
As one of the most influential clerics of Lucknow issued a Fatwa decreeing that those who attack places of worship be treated as enemies of Islam, more Muslim voices across the country rose in anger against terrorists groups operating under the banner of Islam's holy names and killing innocent civilians and women, the Times of India on March 15, 2006 said.
The fatwa by Moulana Khalid Rasheed of Dar-ul-ifta Firangi Mahal issued late Monday night in Lucknow, came day after four similar edicts by some main ulemas in Hyderabad, including the head of one of the South India's biggest Muslim seminaries
Egyptian-born British Muslim Cleric Abu Hamza al Masri whose London Mosque being at the centre of one of the most important terrorism case during the last two decade, was sentenced to 07 years in jail, reported Reuters February 07.
He was directly and deliberately stirring up hatred against Jewish people and encouraging those referred to as non-believers" British Crown prosecution Service said
"Not only he repeatedly advocate that Muslims should kill non believers, he set out to persuade his listeners that it was a part of their religious duty to do so," it said.
Possibility of rebirth in Islam
Islam never said "No" to the law of Karma and rebirth instead it was somewhat confirmed it in verse 49 of Bani Israel, Holy Koran thus: "What when we are reduced to bones and dust, we should be really raised up to be new creation."
Yusuf Ali in his interpretation ( 2234) says: "They do not realize that God who created them once out of nothing can create them again and again with memories of their past, in order to render to him an account of how they used or misused their talents and opportunities which they were given. If it is to be a new creation, what then? Bones and dust or ash may yet retain something of the personality enshrined in them. But even if they are reduced to stones or iron or any thing which their minds can conceive of as being most unlike them. Yet there is nothing impossible to God. He has clearly sent a message that we have to render account of ourselves and his message is necessarily true."
Yusuf Ali who gave interpretation at some point said I cannot understand why we Muslims do not accept Karma and rebirth. Koran also says if Allah wants creates again and again.
Life is held sacred by Islam. Killing is prohibited except under special circumstances. If someone is hungry say "Thakbir" and kill the animal purely to satisfy that hunger. Killing animals and selling them in commercial scale is non-Islamic.
Lessons for Jihad from world politics
In the second world war, US bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki and Japanese were bent upon taking revenge from US, but saner elements there realized that this retaliatory measure would not bring prosperity and development to Japan. Intellectuals and leaders of Japan very carefully guided and molded their people into realizing the folly of such concept inculcating in them that the US action be pardoned for Japan too bombed Pearl Harbor in the first World War and that Japan hinging on to Hitlerism during 2nd Ward War was wrong. That amounted to wisdom of the first order which made Japan one of the economically most powerful nations in the world.
If South Africa and Nelson Mendala who was a prisoner for over 28 years were to take revenge for the apartheid imposed on them what would have been the result. Not that they completely forgot about it, but they never took revenge from the existing whites in their countries. That was Christianity which began as Judaism. Of course Jews gunning for the top men in the Nazi regime and bring them to Justice in Israel is definitely right because the number being extremely few. That part, they never carried any grudge against Germany in general.
Islamic countries and Islamic movements should take lessons from these countries and eschew violence. Muslim intellectuals, leaders Maulvis and others should guide their countries in the light of the fast changing world and extend brotherhood to US and Israel ushering a new Era. Despotism is against modernization, human rights, economic development, women's freedom. This being the reason why most Islamic countries are militarily weak. Instead of overcoming these weaknesses, Arab world in general tried to throttle of Israel for which Allah never gave support and Israel too refused concessions to PLO in heart of heart. It is the duty of all Arab Nations as well as Muslim terrorists outfits to extend an olive branch to Israel and US in order that everybody could subscribe to bring a new era for the world.
Jihad means religious duty imposed on Muslims to spread Islam by waging war. jihad has come to denote any conflict waged for principle or belief and is often translated to mean “holy"
Most of the religions taken root among mankind, do have their origins in Almighty God. Depending on various requirement, God utilized his prophets to spread different kinds of religions. If Islam is the only correct religion, then it is not reasonable that those who were born before the arrival of Islam to be deprived of it.
Allah would not give exclusive right to destroy other religions to Muslims who too are subjects of Almighty Nature. All the great people responsible for the advancement of science which made the life of the entire mankind easier by way of producing aircraft, telephone, radio, television, heating as well as cooking apparatus, computers internet etc. etc. were nothing to do with Islam. Greatest people born on the earth were not Muslims. So why on the earth Muslims are being given right to annihilate rest of the mankind through the application of so-called Jihad.
Jews whom Muslims in general consider to be their arch foes have produced greater people who served the mankind. Over 15 per cent of the Nobel prizes were supposedly received by the Jews.
Muslim Leaders agree to fight terror
Muslim leaders from across the globe agreed on Thursday on measures to combat terrorism and defend the image of Islam at a summit in the Holy city of Mecca., reported AFP on December 08, 2005.
The leaders wounded up a two day summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) pledging to 'update national laws to criminalize all acts of terrorism as well as its financing and incitement.' In a Mecca declaration read out in the final session, they also called upon their peoples to 'combat forcefully the preachers of sedition and deviation, who aims to distort the peaceful principles of Islam."
Saudi Foreign Minister Al Faisal said on Wednesday that Muslim leaders who met in Mecca, Western Saudi Arabia, had agreed to 'combat terrorism and extremism and stressed the moderate nature of Islam.'
They stressed the need to stop blaming outside forces for problems in the Muslim World and focus on co-operation, he said.
'(They agreed on ) stressing the importance of co-operation between Muslims and putting an end to complaints of foreign conspiracies and concentrating on common efforts to face development challenges."
The summit opened with a call from Saudi Arabia for moderation and tolerance and a rejection of extremist violence. King Abdullah called for a reform of educational programs in Islamic nations which are facing US pressure to change school books that the US says are tolerant.
Decisions of the above mentioned Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) clearly discard Jihadism as unIslamic but the language used and its terminology was different. If God wanted to impose Islam on rest of the Mankind, He can definitely do so without making Allah's close Muslim devotees sacrificing their lives for it calling it a Jihad.
Paradoxical interpretations of Islamic principals

I congratulate for her personal interest shown to Imrana who became a rape victim of his father-in-law. She supposedly promised Rs.200,000/- for Imrana. More than all, she suggest quiet important issues that requires immediate attention of the lawmakers of not only India but those in countries such laws affect very much the lives of women).
Let us face it. For all the progress, that is claimed to have been made in India. The fact remains that ours is a patriarchal society in which women counts very little. It could be Imrana, Indira or Irene, the manifestations could be varied because real malaise is the violence against women – physical emotional and verbal – has the tacit approval of the society. This is a social evil that needs to be eliminated through every channel available through changes in the legislation, by public discourse via civil society participation and of course political will.
For far too long women have been victimized and justice has been denied to them under pretence of personal law. To make the matters worse Panchyats churn out verdicts, violating the law of the land, right under our noses. And everyone carries on as if it is usual business. Are we going to allow an alternative judicial system. Ex-Attorney General Soli Sorabji has said:” Personal laws do not enjoy any immunity from compliance while discharging constitutional obligations and guaranteeing fundamental rights. Besides one of the fundamental duties prescribed by the article is to ‘renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women under article 51 A (e)”. What is being done about this
In the wake of Imrana case, I have been among Muslim women working at the grass roots, It is heartening to meet Burqa clad women who swear allegiance to Islam and Quran but are unequivocal in the refusal to accept the retrograde decrees of the clerics. Darululum Deoband backtracked in the Imrana case. (They now claim that no fatwa was issued) that is in no small measure due to the outcry from within the Muslim community.
In case after case, the clergy instead of acting with justice and compassion towards women, seeks only to exercise its writ with coercion. When the decrees made in the name of religion, violate human dignity, they only expose religion to ridicule and make a laughing stock of the community.
It is in this context we need to understand the issue of a uniform civil code. The time has come to place all personal laws in religions under the scanner and reject those laws that violate the constitution. Personal laws of religions discriminate against women on matters of marriage, divorce, inheritance and so on. There is an urgent need to cull out the just and equitable laws of all religions and form a blue print for all religions based on gender justice. Therefore:
"Talaq & polygamy must go"
The framers of our constitution did not impose the uniform civil code because it was believed that there was insecurity within the minorities and that with time they would grow in confidence and articulate the need for reforms within the community. Unfortunately each time the communal riot takes place, the perpetrators go scot-free and it shatters the confidence of the minorities and halts the process of reform.
But 58 years a long time for women to wait for gender justice. We need a debate on a uniform civil code not because it is a magic wand with which all ills that besiege women would be made to disappear but because it will be important step in freeing women from the shackles of a patriarchal society
There are four schools of thought acceptable to Islam. This shows the different interpretations. Even Uttar Predesh Chief minster Mulayam Sing Yadav says that order against Imrana must have been a well-thought out decision by religious leaders.
The government will not interfere in the case till we have more details. The leaders are after all very learned, he said.
The UP Women’s Commission has written to Yadav requesting his intervention in granting Imrana permission to stay with the husband.
They also demanded stern action against the father-in-law who has been arrested and refused bail.
The case is becoming far more political with CPM General Secretary Praksh Karat also stepping in with criticism of the fatwa.
Further points on interpretations
Meanwhile in India, Imrana case making inroads of Muslim civil law practices. In short the story is that Imrana was raped by her father-in-law but the Madrassas looked into the case unbeatably tried to save the father-in-law but it unleashed lot of suppressed feelings to bring about uniform legal system into secular India was mooted.
In other words, Imrana case has generated a discussion as to what forms, the basis of Islamic law,
Creator has made men and women biologically different. Women are not physically as strong as men. To compensate this, Allah ordered men to be protectors and maintainers of women (Al Quran 4:34). For a women who do not have a father, brother husband or son to protect and maintain them, Allah put this responsibility on the male members of the extended family i.e. paternal uncles, maternal uncles,, nephews, step sonsm foster sons, step fathers, fathers–in-law, brothers-in-law (sisters husbands).
In order to ensure, extended family members do not sexually exploit women under their care, Allah made sexual contact with any of the aforementioned male relatives with these women unlawful. (haram for them)(Al Quran 423). He further safeguarded the women by ordering men not to force women under their care for prostitution (Al Quran 24:33). In the same verse Allah says that any body forces women into prostitution, Allah would forgive the women.
The creator in his divine wisdom, safeguarded the dignity of women by making it difficult for any one accuse them of immorality and prescribed a very stringent punishment for those who do so wrongly (Al Quran 24:4). IN case a husband accuses his wife of immorality and the wife swears by Allah that her husband telling as lie, then she is free of the charge (Al Quran 24:6-8)
There are some women who are privileged due to financial reasons or their status in the society. For women who are in the lowest rung of the socio economic order for example slave girls. Allah has been more merciful to them. In chapter 4 verse 25. Allah says; “If slave girl commits immorality, their punishment is half of that of a free woman.” Whereas in Chapter 53 verse 30, Allah addresses the wives of the prophet and says: “whoever of you commits immorality punishment will be doubled.”
Muslims have lot of respect for the wives of the prophet and revere them as mother of the believers; therefore the question they will ever commit an evil deed does not arise.. But Allah revealed this verse so that the people should understand the spirit of the Quranic laws (favoring the downtrodden)..
As to the case of father-in-law raping a daughter-in-law, in the light of Quranic verses, Chapter 04 verse 22 orders: Do not marry those whom your fathers have married, except what has happened in the past”. Centuries ago, before the Quran was revealed, women were considered property and were inherited; men could marry as many women as they pleased. When father died leaving behind widows, the sons would inherit and marry the step mothers just as they inherit all their properties of their fathers.. By revealing verse 4:22 , Allah abolished this barbaric practice. However by adding “except what has happened in the past,”, Allah in his divine wisdom, did not annul the marriages that had taken place before the verse was revealed so as not to make women and children affected by this verse homeless overnight,
To annul the marriage of Imrana, the “wise men” are probably referring to the chapter 4 and verse 22 and 23. Both verses do not apply in Imrana’s case because verse forbid a man to marry a woman whom his father had married earlier. In Imrana’s case, she was already married and she never had any sort of relationship with the father-in-law prior to the marriage with her husband The rape by father in law was committed after marriage to her husband and therefore annulment of her marriage does not arise (End)
There is a very strong case for the Government of India to go for a single unified legal system. It is the duty of the government to secularise and unify its legal system and take power over women’s lives away once and for all from medievalist institutions like Dalul-Uloom Deoband, and Madrassas
Definite improvements in every area of Muslim life is needed. At that stage when Prophet Mohammed appeared on the scene, the society was totally depended on men. Women were not willing or rather physically unable to do the hard work that men did, making males the bread winners. Hence women had to totally depended on men. Role of women as mothers and Allah's distribution of boy and girl children to all families equally without any discrimination, made the women’s position moderated in society without which I cannot imagine how they would have been. But now the situation is totally different. Women are calling shots at most of the places and are at the helm of affairs at large number of countries. US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld requested Iraqi Constitution makers not to make any discriminatory clauses to control women who consist one half of the population. This a reality that would creep into Muslim society throughout the world in spite of Muslim leaders trying to stem the tide, less realizing why Koran brought about certain laws at that time which are meant for basically guidance.

Breaking from repression of Muslim women, talking about their bedroom truths, the book amounted to feelings and fate of thousands of Muslim women, For Muslim women, the challenge was to talk about sex. Subject is forbidden in her world. The
novel delves into how Badra proves her virginity and provides details of her wedding night and her love affair with a doctor who was not loyal to her, There is so much fanaticism, delusion and ignorance in the Arab woman sexuality which is the newly freed.
All these points are mooted to instill among the Muslim brethren the importance of broader interpretations of Islamic principles and the ordinary Muslims to clamor for it. Now newspaper reports are quoted to substantiate the alienation taking place in respect of Muslims throughout the world.
Alienation
Britain’s Prime Minister Tony Blair declared war against evil ideology because this is not Islam at all. Agencies reported from London that Britain woke up on Sunday (17/07/05) to a chilling image of the four London Bomb suspects, taken as they headed to the scene of the attacks, after Prime Minister Tony Blair branded “Islamic extremism”, an evil ideology.
Speaking at the Labour Party conference in the British capital on Saturday, in his most forceful speech since July 07 attacks, Blair said: “ what we are confronting here is an “evil ideology.” It is not a clash of civilizations – all civilized people, Muslim or other, feel revulsion at it, but it is global struggle and it is a battle of ideas, hearts and minds, both within Islam and outside it,” he said.

Take the case of International Society of Krishna Consciousness. They say, this period is not suitable for meditations. In the night, again there would be 16.000 Krishnas going into 16.000 odd houses. This is definitely unacceptable but his chanting was quite powerful that it rehabilitated a large number of drug addicts. Lot of his devotees became celibates. God is interested only that reformation aspect not little deviations from the truth like Krishna and his wives. That was one way to rehabilitate those people who cannot meditate or intellectually discern the truth. As there are a large number of the people, not grown enough to meditate, or intellectually discern the truth, ISKCON was given permission to lie about that this period is not right for meditations and it is only good for chanting and those drug addicts and so on would definitely buy it. This is done with God’s permission. Even Islam could have been subject to such influence resulted in promoting Jihad for a short period on few individuals. Definitely no right thinking Muslim would agree that they were asked to carry out a holy war against the rest of the mankind.
