Well, this is me and that is my shiny new motorcycle (new to me that is - the bike is 15 years old).

The bike in question is a 1985 Yamaha XJ700 Maxim. If you're not interested in motorcycles in general and XJ series motorcycles in particular than this section of my website probably won't be of much interest to you.

Yamaha's XJ series of motorcycles are commonly divided into the Seca (a slightly sporty looking standard "UJM" or Universal Japanese Motorcycle) and the Maxim (cruiser style motorcycle). Several models and engine sizes were available, all based around the same basic powerplant. You can find lots more information about XJs in general at the The Yamaha XJ Owners Page. The 1985 XJ700 Maxim features an air-cooled inline 4 cylinder 4 stroke engine and a shaft-drive transmission.
