Giving Thanks
Here is some poetry that I have gathered from the internet or my family has written.  ~Enjoy
The Change of Seasons
The air turns cool, the leaves turn brown,
A change is taking place,
And everywhere the signs appear
Of Fall's approaching face.

The birds begin their southward flight
That takes them far away,
And in their plaintive song and cry
A fond goodbye they say.

A season dies, a new one's born
Like night gives way to day.
Such is the woundrous work of God
In His own chosen way.

Golden Moment
Take a moment from you labors
In the folds of every day
To pay homage to Lord Jesus
Who befriends your weary way;
It will be a golden moment
Of remembrance and prayer
And make better- in its passing
Every love you have to share.

Just a moment of devotion
To show honor to the Lord
And to worship Him, in glory,
For his blessings and rewards;
Just a fleeting, faithful moment,
He will gild with lasting gold
And include it in His judgement
Of your worthiness to soul.

We Are Thankful
We are thankful, we are thankful
For our food, for our food.
And our many blessings,
And our many blessings

Thank you Lord
Thank you Lord.
The Pilgrims Came
The Pilgrims came across the sea,
And never thought of you and me;
And yet it's very strange the way
We think of them
Thanksgiving day.

We tell their story, old and true
Of how they sailed across the blue,
And found a new land to be free
And built their homes
Quite near the sea.

Every child knows well the tale
Of how they bravely turned the sail
And journeyed many a day and night,
To worship God as they thought right

The people think that they were sad
And grave; I'm sure that they were glad
They made Thanksgiving Day - that's fun
We thank the Pilgrims
Every One!
Come, Ye Thankful People
Come come ye thankful people come,
Raise the song of harvest home!
All is safely gathered in,
Ere the winter storms begin;
God our Maker, doth provide
For our wants to be supplied:
Come to God's own temple come,
Raise the song of harvest home.

Even so, Lord, quickly come,
Bring thy final harvest home;
Gather thou thy people in,
Free from sorrow, free from sin,
There, forever purified,
lin thy presence to abide;
Come, with all thine angels, come,
Raise the glorious harvest home.
