Krajeaw flower is a crop that has gained popularity in both local and foreign markets. Especially in the foreign markets, where there is a high demand, growing rapidly, for no less than 2 million Krajeaw flower every year. Some of the foreign countries that Thailand exports the flowers to are Japan and the Netherlands. In return, Thailand has earned an annual revenue for the products for millions of bath, especially from the Netherlands, the ‘Land of Tulips’. In fact, many foreign visitors now call the Krajeaw flower the 'Tulip of Siam' or 'Siam Tulip'. |
| According to botanists, the Krajeaw flower is a curcuma crop, the same as ginger and galanga, which are monocytyledoneaes. There are no less than 65 similar kinds found all over Australia, Asia, and Africa. Roughly, about 30 types grow in different provinces throughout Thailand. The flower stems collect food from under the ground, while the pseudostem above the ground takes part in photosynthesis. The latter is as high as 20 cm, having green leaves, and a red stem with a petiole of about 10 cm in length. The shape of the leaf is oval, narrow, and the surface is smooth. The centre of the leaf has a reddish hue. The bloom and inflorescence normally grow at the tip of the pseudostem. The top bract of the leaf is purplish or dark red. Botanists classify the curcuma sub-group Krajeaw into two smaller groups according to the characteristics of its bract, inflorescence, anther, and the most important consideration – the opening of the flower. | |

| Where is Krajeaw field ? |
| Krajeaw field is in Pa Hin Ngam National Park, which is 100 km. fromChaiyaphum's muang district and 270 km. from Bangkok, is found in Ban Rai subdistrict, Tep Satit district, Chaiyaphum province. Long Popular with Chaiyaphum locals, in 1985, the Tep Satit Forestry Department conducted a survay of the present day park, and discovered exquisitely shaped rock formations that had been thrown up by changing Earth... |

When to visit? The flower fields can be seen from the Hin Ngam Rock Ground to the Sood- Pandin Viewpoint. The Krajeaw flowers grow and bloom only in the autumn, from June to August, when they proudly show off their beutiful fresh colours of a purplish pink and white. The Krajeaw or Pratumma, or Borsawan, the local name, is another well-known species of Dok kra- Jeaw that can be seen there. |

How to get there ? It is quite easy and convenient to travel to the park headquarters of Pa Hin Ngam National Park.Start at Royal Road Number 1, pass Saraburi province, pass the Pu Kae T-junction, then turn left into Royal Road Number 201 (Lum Narai-Lumsonthi-Tepsatit-Nongbuakok, Nakornratchasrima. About 1 km. before the Tepsatit District Office, turn left into Royal Road Number 2354 to Nongbuarawae district. Drive for 15 kms. to the Ban Rai junction. Turn left and go for a further 14 kms. and you cannot miss the park HQ. Distances Saraburi to Lum Narai, 92 kms. Lum Narai to Tepsatit, 48 kms. Tepsatuarit to park headquarter, 29 kms. |
