THE BOOK EDITORS REVIEW ON THE BACK COVER READS:

In his early teens Ken was plagued by frightening phenomena which only occurred when he was alone. An appeal to his priest simply brooked a harsh response; he pompously declaring it was Ken's imagination. A normal kid in every other way, he was left totally isolated and truly fearful of these ghostly happenings.

But then, aged about sixteen, he enjoyed an incredible experience - a revelation.

Until then, unaware that he was a "born" medium he firmly believed that there were no good spirits - all were bad. However, on meeting his Doorkeeper (AKA "Guardian Angel") Tuan, his fear evaporated overnight. Replaced by an intrepid interest in, and an intrinsic, avid pursuit of Spiritual knowledge, from then on he completely put his trust in these Spirit inspirers.

Thus it was that aged seventeen, in 1948 he began his public ministry. He also thanks his Spirit Teachers who still, even after all of these years, teach him something new each day.

As one reads in many others, there is no waffling gobbledegook in "Spirit And Me." His Spiritual Teachers and he set out to write a no-nonsense, down to earth teaching book and not simply what he terms "Psychic Pulp Fiction" much of which is just that. For example, the autobiographical part is only written in order to demonstrate how his mediumship opened up. As such it ends at the age of twenty-three. So one doesnt have to suffer a drawn out autobiographical account that might be, as so many should be entitled:

"Aint I Great When I Demonstrate!"

A maverick, he never yearned to be part of the "inner cliques and clubs". Therefore, whilst he always welcomes sceptics and constructive criticism, his criticasters, simply flinging insults, etc. from their ivory towers will always produce the same response from him. It simply runs off of his back without fear, offence, anger or pain.
