Kitty was approximately 6-8 months old when we made friends with her. She was one of Patches' many kittens, and the only one who wanted to get to know us; her surviving siblings took to the woods. She was quite companionable, but shy, of course, at first. She very quickly learned to trust us and became everyone's little friend. Kitty was so happy, playful and entergetic as a kitten. She loved doing acrobatic stunts for us to make us laugh. :-)
However, right about the time I estimated that she would turn one year old, and also right at the time when we brought home our new puppy and kitten (Bessie & Beth), as well as taming Patches, she became rather grouchy. I think she would like to be an only cat. She is quite affectionate to us, but very jealous of attention shown to the other kitties. She also has a short temper, so she must be "Handled with Care". :-) In spite of her little troubles, we love her very much, and know she appreciates us. She craves our attention and is special in her own way.
Kitty is a diluted calico, weighs 7 pounds and is about 4 years old. She had her first (and only) litter of kittens, by C-section, in May, 2000. One of her 3 surviving sons is Peaches 'N Cream. |
