Gum, Soda, Candy, Money, Food & Treats
I do not give gum or soda, occasionally I will give a "treat" of candy but I will have enough for everyone to have some. If one child comes into the daycare with candy it leads to disruption. They either don't have enough to share or it isn't age appropriate for all the children. I'd rather avoid the situation all together by being preventative and asking that it not be brought into the daycare home. If you would like to send food with your child please speak to me ahead of time and bring enough for everyone. I know it isn't what your child wants, but its my rule. Please don't tell your child they can have these things here. If they already have them, I will take them and put them up until you pick up your child. Then I will return them to you. The same holds true for pocket change and money. Your child might be old enough to carry change around but might drop it around one of the smaller children. It could cause a choking hazard, so I ask that they leave it at home.
Meals
All meals meet the state and federal standards for children. I am associated with the Children's Nutrition Services. They regulate daycare providers to insure that children are feed healthy, balanced meals and snacks. The children are not forced to eat, but encouraged. A child who doesn't wish to eat at one meal will not be served until the next meal/snack. Please if your child arrives at the end of a meal or just after feed them before you come. We have a schedule to keep. Also please understand that if they are here for meal time they will be served even if you already feed them. Once I stop serving for that meal/snack I am done. If your child is a picky eater please don't be alarmed if they are hungry at the next meal. Its not that they didn't receive a meal, they just didn't like what we where having that day. I can not feed lil Bobby mac and cheese everyday, even if that is what he only wants to eat.
Licensing
This daycare home has met the health, safety, fire codes and program standards required for the state of Wyoming and adhere to them. It is licensed through the Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS). In compliance with the state standards the daycare home must have on file an information sheet on the child, permission to transport, a signed medical release form, current shot records and all required paperwork filled out prior to furnishing childcare.
Two Week Notice
In the future, should you no longer require our daycare services, please notify us fourteen days in advance, in writing with a explanation. If we do not receive notice you will be charged for two weeks. This insures the daycare of an opening so that they may fill it, as it is vital to our daycare business.
A Disruptive Child
Our daycare strives to provide an atmosphere of love and security for the children in its care. If I feel that a child however is disruptive to the daycare group in his/her behavior, I reserve the right to terminate daycare for that child IF the problem can not be resolved. In this event, I will give you two weeks notice with a list of other daycare providers in the area. Thank you for you cooperation in this matter. With communication on both sides this is rarely a problem.
