Tax Credit
Your Child care payments are eligible for a tax credit. I will give you a statement of what you have paid for the year upon request.
Vacation
The provider will take two weeks vacation at no charge to the parents each year. At least a two-week notice will be given. Usually I know well before two weeks and will tell you as soon as I know the dates. If you take a vacation I also expect a two-week notice. If you take more than that you will be charge your full weekly rate for anything after. If your child will gone during summer vacation, a $50.00 per month deposit will be required to reserve his/her spot.
Personal Days
There will be occasions when I will take a day or two for my personal use, you will be notified in advance as to when I will not be available. You will not be expected to pay for services on these occasions and they are kept to a minimal.
Holidays
I will be closed for the following holidays: New Years Day Independence Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day
Sickness
Daycare CAN NOT be provided for a sick child. If the child has a communicable disease, fever of 100+ degrees (orally), rash of undetermined origin, diarrhea or vomiting, the parent is expected to make other arrangements for his/her care. If the child has a bacterial infection and has been on antibiotics for 24 hours, or has an illness which has been determined by a physician to be non-contagious the parent and the provider will discuss plans for his/her care. A doctor's slip may be asked to be provided BEFORE the child is allowed to return. If a child becomes ill/injured while at the daycare home, the parent or other specified adult will be contacted by the provider to remove the sick child. THEY CAN NOT STAY. I know most of us can't afford to take time off work to stay home with a sick child, but remember that anything your child brings here will probably go home with someone else or I could catch it and not be able to watch anyone's child until better. With babies and toddlers I will adhere to this strictly. If I feel a parent is dropping off sick children and not keeping them home where they should be, I will warn you once and only once. You will be asked not to return if you abuse my services.
My or my families illness
In the event of a contagious or potentially contagious illness in the day care providers family, children will not be accepted in the home of the daycare. I will notify you as soon as possible so that you can make other arrangements. In the event I am sick I will do as much as possible to find a back up babysitter for your child as well as mine, such as a relative. If no back up babysitter is available you will have to take his or her care into your own hands. Alternative childcare arrangements in the event of sickness IS the responsibility of the parent. Holidays and vacations you will also have to find care elsewhere, for no back up care will be provided.
Reporting Abuse and neglect
As a mandated reporter, I am legally obligated to call the abuse hotline when I suspect abuse and/or neglect. Ethically I will not hesitate to do so.
Clothing
Each child, regardless of age, will have a complete change of clothing, provided by the parent, in the home daycare everyday. Babies should have 2-3 outfits. Children should be dressed appropriately, according to weather conditions for both indoors and outdoors.
Special Needs
You are required to supply the daycare with diapers and other special needs for your child. Examples being formula, baby food, rash ointment, wipes, bibs etc. I expect you to bring enough to get them through a long day. If I run out or you aren't supplying enough, you will be asked to bring more or I will purchase them myself. In that event, I will then charge your daycare bill for it. Please label any bottles, formula or cups that you bring so they are not mixed up with others.
Toys
There are toys provided by the daycare for all age groups. However, if you child has a special toy, they may bring it ONLY if they share with others and it is NOT a choking hazard to children under 2. The daycare will not be responsible for lost or broken toys while at the daycare. I do not ask you to replace mine so please do not ask me to replace yours.
