Takuya came to the Digital World due to boredom and because Ophanimon sent him an SMS text message on his cell phone (which almost got him run over in the process). Takuya was bored and decided to do what the message said. He is laid-back, loves soccer, and in the soccer club at his school. In the beginning, he lacks leadership skills but still leads his friends around the perils of the Digital World, relying pretty much on luck. It took him awhile to be convinced how much was at stake and finally take his leader position seriously. Takuya is extremely energetic and has a strong sense of justice, fighting those who he feels threatens the peace. Takuya is the most devoted to his family, especially to his brother, Shinya. Takuya is easily amused and tends to do silly things or doing things without thinking. He has the most determination and spirit in a fight which leads him to winning along with his friends. Takuya loves children, and displays it with Tomoki. He commonly fights with Izumi and acts before he thinks, which ends up in consequences which he usually takes in stride. He also had to spend a lot of time reasoning with Kouji to get him to brighten up, and is generally a likable and approachful person. Shibayama Junpei ![]() Name: Shibayama Junpei Dub Name: J.P. Shibayama Age: 12 Dub Age: 13 Grade: Sixth Dub Grade: Seventh Hometown: Jiyuugaoka Spirit: The Spirit of Thunder (Rai/Ikazuchi) Eye Color: Black Hybrids: Human:Blitzmon/Beetlemon Beast: Bolgmon/MetalKabuterimon Ancient Spirit: Susanoomon Family: They have never mentioned Junpei's family background, only his social life. It is mentioned that he comes from a refined, rich family. Seiyuu (Japanese Voice Actor): Amada Mahito Dub Voice Actor: Jay Blum Nickname: Ecchi!![Pervert!!!] (Izumi) Jeep (Koji) Image Song: Spark!! In-Depth: Junpei is one of the most misunderstood characters in Digimon Frontier. He has an obvious crush on Izumi (he made his sentiments clear in the first episode), loves chocolate, hates school, and loves performing card and magic tricks. He has a bit of insecurity, as shown in episode 5, especially if he is the only one without something. Aside from this, he is extremely reliable. He is also very genuine to return Izumi's spirit back for her after blowing Grottomon to smithereens. Many perceive him as stupid just because he is a little corpulent, but he really has a good personality, although he tends to solve his problems with chocolate and carries an enormous amount of them as a bribe or for sustenance. His is also bound by his past like Izumi. He has a hard time making friends, well because he kind of didn't know how. In order to attract a field of people, he performed magic tricks to gain their friendship, which really didn't do much. He still ended up being alone, even in poor weather conditions, no one would accompany him. He also has an extreme fear of being alone. The only way he got attention from his peers at school was performing magic tricks, and they literally pushed him aside afterwards. He is very helpful towards the team and contributes although he is ironically afraid of his own elemental spirit. He soon develops into a strong, resourceful and reliable person who is not afraid if he feels he is the odd one out. Himi Tomoki ![]() Name: Himi Tomoki Dub Name: Tommy Himi Age: 9 Dub Age: 10 Grade: Fourth Dub Grade: Fifth Hometown: Jiyuugaoka Spirit: The Spirit of Ice (Koori) Eye Color: Green Hybrids: Human: Chakkumon/Kumamon Beast: Blizzarmon/Korikakkumon Ancient Spirit: Susanoomon Family: His loving mother and father (names unknown), and his older brother, Yutaka Seiyuu (Japanese Voice Actor): Watanabe Kumiko Dub Voice Actor: Brianne Sidall (also voiced Calumon in Digimon Tamers) Image Song: Say Yes! In-Depth: Tomoki, loved by his parents and disliked by his older brother, Yutaka. Tomoki is bullied by many boys his age or older for fun, (referring to Teppei and Katsuharu) and his brother is not very fond of him either since Tomoki is often pampered by his parents. Because Yutaka doesn't really act as a brotherly figure to Tomoki, he became very skilled with computers and video games. Since his brother had such a disdain towards him, he spent most of his time doing these things. Tomoki still has an attachment to his parents and sees Takuya as an older brother. He is a timid young boy, but later on progresses into a strong child. Initially, Tomoki was crying his eyes out and wanted to go home when he first arrived to the Digital World and even went as far as walking on a train rail to get back to the human world. He commonly leaned on Takuya and the others for consolation but learned to stand on his own and be a much braver kid who can fight for others. Kimura Kouichi ![]() Name: Kimura Kouichi Dub Name: Koichi Kimura Age: 12 Dub Age: 13 Grade: Sixth Dub Grade: Seventh Hometown: Unknown, but it's not Jiyuugaoka like everyone else but most likely a nearby district Spirit: The Spirit of Darkness (Yami) Eye Color: Shade of Lavender Hybrids: Human: Lowemon/Löwemon Beast: KaiserLeomon/JagerLowemon Ancient Spirit: Susanoomon Family: Kimura Tomoko (mother), Grandmother (deceased), Minamoto Kousei (father), Satomi (step-mother, he does not know her but briefly saw her once), and Minamoto Kouji (younger twin brother). Click here for an in-depth explanation. Seiyuu (Japanese Voice Actor): Suzumura Kenichi Dub Voice Actor: Crispin Freeman Nickname: Brother (dub), -niisan [brother] (Kouji) Image Song: Blader while as Duskmon and Oreta Tsubasa De~ With Broken Wings when returned to his normal form. In-Depth: Kouichi is the most mysterious character of the Frontier story. He was not fully introduced until the late half of the series. After the Duskmon battles, he introduces himself as Kouji's older twin brother. He is bound by his family history, just trying to figure out who his real brother. He spent a great amount of time spying and following Kouji's family since he didn't want to reveal himself to them nor make a scene. When he finally found Kouji, he fell down the stairs and lost consciousness, plus his mind. He was taken to the hospital in the human world but Cherubimon took his spirit to the Digital World and manipulated Kouichi's feelings. He appeared first around episode 14 or so, lurking in the darkness in the hideout as Duskmon. He eventually showed himself after killing Arbormon. Kouji, though extremely cautious, was nonetheless drawn to this mysterious evil digimon spirit, and he could see somewhat of himself in Duskmon. Cherubimon took Kouichi since he was the rightful owner of the spirit of Darkness. In order to prevent further backlack, Cherubimon turned Kouichi into the infected hybrids Duskmon and Velgmon. Kouji was able to scan his infected spirits and return him to normal. Kouichi has a strong love for his family and takes his hard-working mother's feelings into consideration quite often. He is still trying to find himself and is very curious about his family roots. Although he barely finally met Kouji, he displays an unconditional love towards him. Around the end, the paladin digimon tell him that his physical body is in the real world, which explains why he never gets harmed after being attacked like everyone else. It greatly shocked and bothered him very much and he kept it to himself. He wasn't sure whether or not to believe what RhodoKnightmon said, but this was true. Kouichi is very good at masking his feelings, as Kouji couldn't even tell what was wrong with him. Around the near end, he sacrifices himself to save the rest of the group, giving his spirit and power of darkness to Kouji, thus giving the Chosen Children a new power reuniting them in the human world to fulfill their void of which they were unable to deal with prior to being in the Digital World. If not for Kouichi's sacrifice, the Chosen Children would have been done for, although Kouji took it pretty hard once Kouichi's spirit data was processed away. | ||||||
