She was born in Japan but moved to Italy when she was young. She recently came back to Japan and is not having much luck making friends. She speaks her mind freely whether or not her thoughts are nice or blunt. She is seen as very beautiful, graceful, and attractive in the eyes of certain people. Izumi was born in May, three months older than Takuya. She also likes helping people out and fighting for the greater good. Mostly, she is provoked when insulted about her personality rather than the way she looks. The downside about her is the fact that she can tend to become a bit violent and fierce. When she is embarrassed, appalled, or plain out annoyed by someone, she will whack them. She is driven by her past social experiences. Other girls in school perceive her as a snob due to her apathetic attitude and assume that she thought she was better than them. Her "friends" as shown in Episode 8 mistook what she said and interpret Izumi's actions differently than what Izumi thinks what her actions mean. However, Izumi's initial reactions seemed indifferent. She also has many flashbacks about her past experiences. She was not treated well by other girls when she went on a camping trip, and was ditched by her own new-made friend. What she was really looking for was a true friend. She wanted to be a better person and friend to others. On the other hand, Izumi is a cheerful girl despite the fact she was a bit unhappy with what some girls did to her and her trying to get through a cultural barrier. She will always try to cheer others up when they're down. Another thing about Izumi is that she attempts to speak Italian, although the pronunciation is off. She commonly says Italian phrases such as "Prego", "Commozione", "Prodigioso." Most of her attack names (in the Japanese version) are Italian. Izumi's personality is commonly related to Inoue Miyako (Yolei Inoue) and Tachikawa Mimi. Izumi can be related to Miyako's personality due to Miyako speaking her thoughts and smacking others. In terms of being like Mimi, Izumi seems to be a bit chic with clothing styles and likes fixing her hair. Her personality in the dub was tweaked a bit. She was a bit of a peppy girl who did nothing but make guys do things for her, and giggled often in a girly style. Her past was the same, but her personality was changed a bit. Little changes would be her saying more Italian phrases in the dub, such as "Mamma Mia!" or "Presto!". Other Random Facts: "Orimoto Izumi" literally translates into "Spring (referring to water, not the season) Weave." People recognize her name because Izumi is also the Family/Last name of Izumi Koushiro (Izzy Izumi) of Digimon Adventure. Izumi is used as a female first name and also for a family name. | ||||||
