| The KOUHIi family today can trace their roots all the way back to the birth of Escil Joranson in 1630 in the tiny Finnish village of Kauvatsa. Other branches of the same family go back to Michel Kassari in 1500, to Marten Jacobsson in 1580, to Matts Lompi in 1600, to Hans Jalli in 1610 or to Thomas Prahti back in 1642. Today, the Kouhi family stretches from the family farm in Kauvatsa to the Thunder Bay area of Northwestern Ontario in Canada. They can be found throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. All from their common roots on a tiny farm in Finland. |
