BODY PARAGRAPH a) Each body paragraph is about a specific decision/policy you have made in the past. b) Make sure to explain what type of decision/policy you are telling us about (economic, social, military, political) c) DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS. Give plenty of appropriate details. d) Tell us the affects of your decision. Why was it such a great decision/policy? e) Give it a twist. Turn what you have done into what you will continue to do for the American people in the future. (EX. I have helped the United States defeat _____. In the future, you will be able to count on me to ensure that we stay as strong and as powerful as we are today.) f) Put a positive spin on everything. g) Emphasize the positive and de-emphasize the negative. CONCLUSION PARAGRAPH a) Remind the people what the purpose of your speech is. b) Summarize your important qualities again. c) Summarize your important decisions/policies. d) Tell the people what you can do for them in the next 4 years. e) Remind us why you are the best for the job. f) END STRONG AND BE PATRIOTIC. Remember, you are running for president. You want them to want to stand up and sing the National Anthem with a tear in their eye after hearing your speech. |
