| TIMELESS SUNSET
My brother Tony had come up with a bass line for a song in the early years of THEE ALLIANCE and he called the song Timeless Sunset. Writing the lyrics for this song, I really dug deep into my soul and focused on where I had been in my life, the pain that burned deep inside of me, the love of a mother for her child and vision of hope for the future. It just seemed to flow out of me and onto the paper with ease. Timeless Sunset is very special to me and is by far, to this day, one of my greatest works I have written and has been published in the book Tumbling Into Tomorrow by The International Library of Poetry. The sea is calm now The storm has passed us by No more tears to cry Your life is shattered They taken all your dreams Your peace is in the sky Were all your dreams all of glory? Were you the hero in the end? Take my hand soldier and walk with me again. I hope this sunset never ends. You have fought bravely Now it is time to sleep Lay your soul to rest Take your children underneath your wings Ride the sunlight crest. Were all your dreams for your children? Were they safe in the end? Take my hand mother and walk with me again. I hope this sunset never ends. Were all your dreams for your freedom? Were you happy in the end? Take my hand son and walk with me again. I hope this sunset never ends. 2003 Fred S Mayoros. All Rights Reserved |
