Win 98, Me, 2000, XP
EDD (short for 'English-Deutsch Dictionary') is a bilingual English-German dictionary with more than 70.000 words and phrases and some interesting options. There are several ways to search for a translation: type into the first field the word you are looking for and press ENTER or the button 'Find' and the translation appears in the field below or press the button 'Find all' to get up to 10 translations for the word. You can also minimize the program, select (highlight) a word in some text (Word Document, HTML page etc.), press the hotkey ALT+X and the translation for the highlighted word will appear in a tooltip. Below is a picture of a tooltip-translation:

The size of the ZIP file is 445 KB, unzipped it's about 1 MB. The program can be downloaded with the below link:
Download EDD (445 KB, zip).
After downloading the file, unzip it into a folder of your choice. The zip file contains the following files: license.txt, the Readme file, 'ttipd.jpg', the help file 'edd_help.html', the wordlist 'Dictionary.dat' and the program itself - 'edd.exe'. No installation is required, just double-click 'edd.exe' to start it. It's recommended to read the help file first. The program doesn't place any icons or shortcuts on the desktop or the start menu, since it's easy to do that yourself, if you need them. | © Dejan Kostić, 2006
