David grew up in Bakersfield where he learned how to play the drums at the early age of 9 �I think one of the main reasons music became such an obsession for everyone in the band, is that here just wasn�t a whole lot to do where we lived�.
"My father offered to pay my whole way to kollege." David says "But I told him I wanted to try this first," he adds. "My father didn't put me down for this, but he thought I was wasting my time. But my mother was super supportive. She knew it was my dream, and she listened enough to know I was serious about it." - David
James, Brian, and Fieldy were looking for a drummer for their new band L.A.P.D, Fieldy says �I got this message on my answering machine from this kid, David was like 13 it was like �Hey you guys I hear your looking for a drummer�. So we kalled him up and went over to his house and tried him out, He was f*cking good man�.

Of Jonathans lyrics David says "Personally, I didn't have a bad childhood, but I can relate as far as I've heard other stories and seen so many things that happen. And every time you turn on the TV, you hear the awful things that happen to children. I understand it all even though I didn't have a bad childhood. Some of the other issues...I understand, but he writes a lot about fighting with your own personal insides. I don't really have things like that going on in my head. I'm pretty at ease with myself and with my life."
Of David�s influences he says, �There�s music I like to listen to, but when it komes to writing our music I�m not really influenced by anyone else.
