Welcome to the KORG 1994 Gen Con Team Tournament! The name of this adventure is Queensday:The Royal Game.
The key to victory in this event is teamwork. The teams that have the most success will be those that work together the best. In this event there will be opportunities for role-playing, puzzle solving, and good old fashioned combat.
The tournament will be organized in the following way. After all teams have been given their instructions and chosen characters, they will go before the Queen and receive their challenge. Teams will then have about two and one half hours to move among the busy streets of the capital of Newhope. There the players can visit shops, meet NPC's, and see their opponents face to face. At the end of that period, the shops will close, and several public events will take place. Following these events, teams return to their original GM, who will guide them through the last portion of the event. The teams will then reassemble before the Queen, who will announce the winner of the competition.
Much of the adventure will be live-action role-playing. This means players can talk, bargain, and trade with NPC's and other players. Combat, magic, and other such activities will *not* be live-action. If a player wishes to enter combat, cast a spell, or use some special ability they must find a GM to administrate. It is also against the rules to physically steal something from a shop keeper, NPC, or other player. If you really wish to steal an item, a GM must administer the attempt. Be forwarned, however, that the city guard takes a grim view of thievery.
Players in the tournament can be identified by their name tags, which bear the character's name and team affiliation. All KORG GM's will have name tags which identify them as NPC's. Note that all female characters have their name or description written in pink, male characters in blue, and characters who are sexless or whose gender is unknown have their description written in green. Note that all PC's are either nuetral or good, that they are all of the nobility, and all are human.
At this time, players should choose their characters. Players may not trade characters. Players can reveal as much (or as little) about their character to their teammates as they wish. If players want to add descriptions to their name tags, they are welcome to do so. Please return all props, pins, and so on to your GM at the end of the round. The name tags, however, are yours to keep.
