Events KORG Members Enjoyed
One of the great things about Gen Con (and other gaming conventions) is
the chance to play in games created by some really great Game Masters. Below
are some examples and recommendations of events we've really enjoyed.
- Bob: There's a gaming group who call themselves the Bobs or
some such that run events with names like "Bobquest". Despite the fact that
that sounds like a really stupid name (somehow I just expected a bunch of
giggling, slack-witted halflings engaging in pie fights) the Bob events are
quite good, and have been enjoyed by multiple KORG members. The designers
do a good job, the GMs know the event well, and the puzzles are challenging
and interesting. (We've also participated in some events where the Bob
folks were
themselves players, and they're cool to game alongside as well).
- Court Murder: As mentioned elsewhere, the "Court Murder" series
of events are very entertaining. "Court Murders"
are generally live action events in which
a murder has been committed (typically by one of the players). During the
course of the event the players must try to figure out who did it. That's
just one of the many plots, however, as there are subplots involving every
character. You'll spend your time mostly role playing with fellow players
rather than the GM, which creates a great atmosphere for gaming. If you want
hack and slash or traditional AD&D this isn't for you, but if you like live
action role playing you'll probably groove on this.
