This is the introduction handed out to all players of "Forging of Nations":
For centuries the races have warred against one another. Orcs, elves, dwarves, humans, and dozens of other peoples have contested against one another, seeking to dominate the land. With the coming of the Order, however, this is all coming to an end. The Order, a race of mysterious beings from some other plane of existance, have declared themselves masters of this world and commanded an end to the constant fighting. Any who have broken their declaration of peace have been destroyed - the members of the Order possess god-like power, and all efforts to defeat them have met with utter failure. Faced with no other choice, each of the warring races has sent representitives to a conference sponsored by the Order. At this conference the races will negotiate with one another for what territory, resources, and other things of value their new nation will get. Realizing that some issues may be impossible to solve through talks, the Order has set up an arena in which intractable differences may be settled by combat.
