FAYALOBI started as a musical group.
They had their first presentation on November 5th, 1981.
The first three years were dedicated to singing and practising, playing on an instrument (mandoline, guitar, kuarta and maracas).Once in a while they throw a serenade to friends and family on their birthday.

Since 1984 next to other presentations they also were singing in churches.

The name "FAYALOBI" is in Sranang tongue and means: BURNING LOVE
This name was chosen by the group because of the flower the ladies of the group carried in their hair during the presentations. The latin name of the flower is Ixora and its prime color is red.

After 1985 FAYALOBI decided to sing during mass services and from there on they became a (church) choir.
They mostly assist the mass service in Zuid Bonam and Brievengat. Soon after that they were singing in all the churches over the island and also in Aruba, Bonaire and Venezuela.

The goal of the FAYALOBI CHOIR is to bring the message of JESUS CHRIST closer to the people.
Their main message is : "To love one another".
They are trying to obtain their goal by acting positivily, praying, worshipping the Lord with their songs and compositions to enhance and glorify the name of the Lord, our GOD.

FAYALOBI CHOIR consists of 21 members and is directed by Mrs. Milang Getrouw - Pang.
