| Chapter 7 Who knew sleep could come so fast after such an ordeal. Well, if the body is in pain, it likes to rest. Not that Im complaining, its just weird. Maybe it was the drugs. My eyes are still closed and I turn myself on my and I open an eye. Shit. Good morning, Ms. Potter. Sleep well? Shit. Hes here and hes waiting for me to open the other eye. His head is inches away from mine. Go away, damnit. I have this strange feeling that hes not going to budge so I better answer so he just might go away. So, I answer, Dont you have other patients to attend to. I yawn and begin to turn my self onto my back. I stretch myself while doing this. The stretch causes me to arch my back, making by breasts stick up. I know he staring at them. Pig. I cant help it, I have to ask him, so I close my eyes, What color are my eyes? He knows that I know hes been staring. What? Play dumb, oh yeah theres a great idea. He repeats himself, Im sorry, what? Bingo. I play along, I said, dont you have any other patients to bother? Well, see, Im usually on the evening shift so I dont get many patients. The only other patient I had, left this morning so, sorry to say, but youre stuck with me. He smirks as he said the last part. Ugh! I look over to the place where Jack was and the there was no one there. So I ask, Wheres Jack? Jack went home to finish resting up and hell be back later. He answered as he lent back in the chair. Oh my God, Joey! What happened to you? Said an over coffeed Jen as she ran into my room. Alright who did this? Sorry, Jo, I tried to grab her before she came running in like a lunatic, but no such luck. Another voice called. Drue. He continued, So how are you? I can help but to laugh at them. Theyre so cute together. Im fine Drue, thanks for asking. And Jen, dear, lets just say I had a run-in with and old friend. I said with a bitterness to my voice. Hes back? They both say in unison. Ill kill him. The bastard. shouted Drue. When did he get back? This wasnt supposed to happen. Jen asked worriedly. I dont know, but Jen, I suggest you stay at Drues because I dropped my purse when he grabbed me. You, know, just to be on the safe side. I told here what happened to me and she just nodded. Yeah Ill do that, Jo. Ill stay with Drue. she said sadly. She tried to perk herself up a bit. I have good news though, I come bearing clothes and good food. I know how bad hospital food can be, she whispered the last part. Ahem. Dr. Witter cleared his throat so as to be noticed. Just butt right in Oh, Jen, Drue, this is Dr. Witter. Hes my hero. He laughed at the last part. He stood up and introduced himself, Hi, Im Dr. Pacey Witter. He shook hands with both Jen and Drue. Jen turned to me and gave me a knowing look. Theres Jen for you. Joey? asked an uncertain voice. Bessie. She walked into the room and saw me. Oh my God, what happened to you? That seems to the reaction of the day so far. Hey Bessie. I had a run-in with an old friend. I said once again, with bitterness. Hes back again isnt he? She plops herself down into the nearest chair. Tell me what happened. She said with concern. |
