Chapter 3

Im sitting here in the same room, alone.  I cant believe hes not back yet, stupid doctor.  Humph.  Well, at leas they gave me some pain killers to ease the pain of my arm.  God it hurts.  I just want to go home and curl up into a little ball on my nice, comfortable bed.  Some how, I dont think thats going to happen any time soon.  Who am I kidding my homes not very safe now, he probably has my purse and is waiting for me to return home.  What am I going to do now?

Well, Ms.- I mean Joey- I called the police to report what happened tonight, theyll be sending someone to keep watch over you and theyll question you in morning.  Im going to have to keep you here over night to keep an eye on you.  The reason behind this is because injected, a drug called GHB.  Its similar to ecstasy.  The reason for not feeling happy is because it is an oral drug, not to be injected.  Apparently, he might have mixed it with alcohol, which can be deadly.  Youre lucky though, he gave just under the amount needed for you to pass out.   I have the antidote to give you and it gives you the opposite effects than GHB.  After that, youre going to need to get some rest.  So that means you cant go home.  I hope you dont have any plans tonight.  he  joked as he was getting a needle ready with the antidote.

The only plans I had tonight was to take a long, hot bath and curl up with a good book, after all, it is Monday, and I need to relax.  I replied with a coy smile and looked out the window of my room, seeing all the night lights in the city.  I dont want to leave this place.  Its my home.  I just want him to rot in jail fair away from here.  He brings over the needle full with antidote and he flicks it once and pushes a little out through the opening to see if it works.  It does and he prepares to insert the needle through my skin till it reaches just inside the edge of my arm muscle.  I never had a problem with needles, its just the anticipation of it causing a little pinch that you know wont hurt.

This may hurt a little, he says to me.  I just let out a small laugh at his seriousness of whats about to happen.  I dont have a problem with needles, its just waiting for the initial impact. I chuckle a little more as hes looks at me like a have huge ears.  I dont think I have huge ears, do I?  He shakes his head as he lets out a humph and, again, prepares to insert the needle into me.

I send a nurse to help you to your room thats been waiting for you.  I do suggest you get some rest, because youll have a busy day tomorrow answering questions to the police.  Trust me on this one.  There will be a guard on duty standing outside your door, just to make sure your safe.  Ill check on you during the night, but other than that, youll have Mr. Jack Mcphee in there with you to keep you company.

I get my own, personaluh
Nurse.
Right, my own, personal nurse.  Why?
Well, just to keep watch on you, to make sure youre okay and help you with anything the you need.  He said as he began to clean up the examining table and then continued over to the counter to put the things away.

So, I get an almost butler, only with medical experience to wait on me, hand and foot?  I ask only half disbelieving.

Well, not a butler, just someone to make sure youre alive.  He said with a smirk on his face as he turned around.  Be nice to Jack, he works hard and, dont tell him I told you this, but, well, he just got through a three year relationship, so its hard for him right now.

Oh, right, Ill try to be a ball full of sunshine for good, ole Jack.  Well, I can do pleasant, but I dont do miss Suzy Sunshine.

Fine by me.  Oh, look, speaking of the devil. he said as he went over to Jack who was wheeling a wheelchair for her. Hey, Jack.  Be nice to my patient, she hard a rough night, plus you have to spend the next 24-hrs together.  Night you two.  See you once youre settled in Joey. With a smile he left.   I just stared at Jack and he stared back.
