Ch. 6 And Then There Were None

Wufei was ready for anything, and the first to respond to the attack.  About ten spears came shooting out from the wall above while another ten came from each wall next to them.  Wufei pulled out his sword and protected them to the best of his ability.  Cutting and slashing, he stopped all but one.
Beilan toppled over, holding her stomach.  The spear went right through her, and landed in the wall.  Blood was everywhere, and her innards were plastered across the wall.  Wufei was in shock, and couldnt believe that he was unable to protect the woman.  As Beilan rolled down the stairs, Wufei kneeled down and suddenly threw up, completely disgusted with himself and the scene.  Heero was the only one with enough sense to get himself and Wufei out of the stairway before it happened again.  Sira ran down the stairs further, to the main floor.

Come on, Wufei, not now.
II didnt protect her

The spears began again, moving like dominos from the top of the stairs towards them.  Wufei was still in shock from his weakness.  Heero dragged Wufei down the stairs quickly, trying to beat the spears that were heading his way.  Wufei was the heaviest of the pilots, and Heero was struggling to pull him down.

Wufei, get up! Heero yelled. If you dont, youll never live long enough to save the others!

This registered in Wufeis mind, and he quickly got up then stumbled to the bottom of the steps just in time to escape the attack.  Heero gave Wufei his sword, and looked around for Sira.  She was nowhere to be found.

We have to get out of here now, Wufei.  The others are probably dead, if they received an attack like that.
I would have thought at least Trowa would have made it.  But to present matters, which key will unlock the door?  Wufei said, pulling at the locked front door.

Heero turned to look at the wall of keys, and quickly chose twenty three out of the whole bunch that looked like they would fit.  He brought them over to Wufei, who was at the door.

Were going to have to try each key.

Heero heard Wufeis sword leave its cover once again, and looked up to see what happened.

Just get that key, Yuy.  Ill take care of this and attempt to redeem myself.

Wufei prepared his sword to deflect an attack.  An attack which was massive.  Thousands of small darts hailed from all directions at him, clanging against the metal of Wufeis broadsword.

Found the key yet?!
No, Im trying! Heero was actually beginning to panic.

Heero fumbled with all sorts of keys, and none would fit the keyhole.  He went through all twenty three, and still none worked.  He turned to ask Wufei to cover him when he went back to get more keys, but was only just in time to see Wufei get hit by one dart, then showered with many.  Wufei pulled one out, stumbled, and collapsed on the floor, motionless.  Heero stared at Wufei, then up to the last thing he ever thought hed seethe barrel of a gun.
