Oldest News Friday 13th September WE'RE NOT SUPERSTICIOUS! - Another busy weekend is upon us - SIGN OUR BLOODY GUEST BOOK (PLEASE!) Monday 2nd September 2002 We're having a little rest till 13th September - we hope you'll manage without us! Wednesday 28th August 2002 What a hectic bank holiday weekend that was! - Every gig was great, a huge crowd in the garden at Mongeham, and NO RAIN this year! The Greyhound at Aylesham was the usual party we've come to expect. The Strand was absolute mayhem in a kind of Christmas Eve type way. Thanks to the pissed dancers for not falling on the equipment, and to the people who just couldn't help joining in and especially to the girls who felt compelled to show us their pants without the need for encouragement... Friday 23rd August 2002 Another busy weekend is here, and if you're coming to see us at all, you may notice that Jacob is doing all the hard work whilst Konrad looks a bit stiff. This is due to very painfully bruised and very likely cracked rib(s) which happened sometime last weekend. He is relying on Codeine and Paracetamol to get him through the gigs. Messages of sympathy will be hugely appreciated. On a more athletic note, pictures of Jacob's extreme-piano-sports to be added to the album soon... Friday 16th August 2002 Well the weekend's here again and we're looking forward to the outdoor gig tonight at The Crispin, Worth. The weather looks promising - just need to hope that the thunder storms stay away. We had a great time in Broadstairs last weekend on our day off (Saturday) and you may have spotted us drumming madly near the bandstand with loads of friends old and new. We met many lovely people that day, although we don't remember all of you, so if you're one of them, let us know! - Jacob paid another visit to Broadstairs during the week, and would like to warn you all of the dangers of falling asleep on the train home and waking up in Seven-Oaks, which is great if you lve there, but he doesn't.... Tuesday 30th July 2002 Hmmmm. I already updated this a few days ago, and somehow didn't save it. I hope you're not expecting me to remember what I wrote. We've had a very busy July, including another fantastic carnival night in the garden of The Walmer Castle. Thanks to all of you who came and helped create a great atmosphere. If you missed it, then you'll get another chance next year, as we've already been booked! A special mention is deserved for the TROWBRIDGE posse! - We hope to see you soon for Caroline and Garry's wedding. Congratulations to Rita and Harry, whose wedding we performed at on Saturday, and if anyone has any idea what we did and where we went afterwards, please let us know because there are a few blanks in the memory of the rest of Saturday Wednesday 17th July O.K. so it's been a while since we got back from Glastonbury, but it's taken some time to adjust to reality and we have been pretty busy. What was it like? Well Roger Waters was awesome of course, complete with quadrophonic sound system - it sounded better still with our own added enhancements! - Rod Stewart was patriotic, sexist 80's pop shite, Rolf Harris was a legend, 10cc (yes you heard right!) were an amazing surprise, Coldplay were great, Ani DeFranco was fantastically psychotic and we saw angels up near the sacred stones. Obviously lots of other stuff happened, but I guess you had to be there. Pictures from Glastonbury are being added now - please check back for updates! AND START PLANNING FOR 2003 NOW AND DON'T COME WITHOUT A TICKET! Friday 6th June Just about recovered from the 4-day weekend, Jacob and I had a great time Monday night at The Crispin in Worth. An excellent party in the garden and we were treated like royalty, which was only right as it was jubilee day after all. Special thanks to all the staff and the guy with the bottle of Paddys Irish whiskey! Also thanks to the taxi driver who got us and all the gear home without any of us remembering doing it. We might have a little surprise for Glastonbury, but we've been sworn to secrecy! Wednesday 22nd May Jacob's got his Glastonbury ticket, so we're both going now! I'm told we did a bit of busking at the weekend - I can't say I can remember much about it though, apart from the scary shoe shop lady complaining that "people can't hear themselves trying their shoes on" - I kid you not. Some of you may have spotted us travelling between gigs recently in two shopping trolleys! - Thanks to all the volunteers who helped! - I'm sure some other stuff has happened, but I can't remember much more... sorry. Tuesday 21st April Did we have fun in Hastings? - Well for some, it was a life-changing experience! Check out our new photos here We met lots of new friends, including Ann and Rhyane - huge SLADE fans - and we met The Gutterband who entertained us to the max on Saturday night! Well done guys! - We hope to see you again! Wednesday 10th April 2002 No GIGS this weekend! - WHY? - Because we're going to sunny HASTINGS for a 70's 3-day weekender! Come back soon to see what we got up to - the camera will be there! We're still recovering from the weekend! New pictures soon! - Well done if you won an easter egg for showing us your pants! We've just finished recording 'WEEKEND WORLD' which is a new song written by Jacob! He wrote the song especially for a film of the same name, which you'll be hearing more about soon, and we'll be performing it live next time you see us! Other news this week: There's a rumour of a MENINGITIS AWARENESS benefit gig soon The SOGGY KEBAB may be resurrected from THIS SITE! (Hurrah!) And KONRAD'S GOT HIS GLASTONBURY TICKET!!!! Konrad and Jacob are definitely going to Glastonbury Festival this year! Check out the efestivals.co.uk site for festival details, and check out our 'knob-slapping' dance that we'll be doing! I've had a bit of trouble editing the site just recently, so it's been a while! Where do I begin? We had a fab and groovy xmas / new year holiday! Huge thanks to The Glambusters whom we met in at The Borough Arms, Weston -Super-Mare. Also thanks to Michael and his wife (whose name I've forgotten!) at Abingdon Guest House for their hospitality. We also had a great time at The Imperial - an excellent jam session! As if that wasn't enough, we then had a fab and groovy time in Glastonbury, where we met up with lots of friends, old and new. We enjoyed many hours in The Becketts, The Back-Packers and had a great night at The King Arthur - WE'LL BE BACK! THANX TO BRIDGET AND SHAUN AND ESPECIALLY POG FOR HAVING US AGAIN (AND AGAIN!) CHECK OUT OUR NEW PHOTOS! We're thinking about a mini-tour of the South-West this summer! - E-mail us if you know of any suitable venues please! We did a gig for PHOEBE - At The Walmer Castle, Deal, on 3rd November - JACOB HAD HIS LEGS WAXED IN PUBLIC! - About 600 was raised - THANK YOU! We had the great pleasure of meeting Al Stewart last night, (He's the song-writer who has been a huge inspiration to Konrad's percussive rhythm guitar sound). Al now has a copy of 'Kiss Me Stupid'! (Konrad's solo album). There's a photo of Al & Konrad in our photo album... I've just added some new pics to the album, including the ones that Jemma asked about in the guestbook. I also finally got round to adding the pic of the family we met holidaying at SUTTON VALE - YOU ARE NOW ON THE SITE!!! Other pics from WILLOW WOODS! AND in the guestbook, Pedro Gonzalez comes clean about his bacofoil pants! Local artist and strange, twisted, weird, person Jamie of 'Bless Her Little Cotton Gusset' fame has sent us this animated version of our seal-pup photo... Obviously, our publicity advisor has suggested that we remind you that we don't condone this sort of behaviour, so DON'T CLICK HERE and you won't have to see it! By popular demand, I've just added the CHORDS to 'Let's 'Ave Some!' to this site HERE - Remember to put your capo on the 3rd fret to be in the right key (Eb) CLICK HERE to play some samples from RADIO KENT's coverage of DOCK ROCK! CLICK HERE to see a little something from The Dover Express Online A WHOLE ALBUM OF DOCK ROCK PHOTOS HAVE BEEN ADDED! DOCK ROCK was GREAT although a bit wet! Our WHOLE SET was played on RADIO KENT, plus DAVE CASH played three tracks again on his show on Radio Kent on Sunday 5th August. Dave and Louise also discussed this web-site and were suitably impressed! The previous DOCK ROCK was in 1996, and the dear old BBC have used a picture of KONRAD (from then), on their website.
