Ours is a small family. I am the only daughter of my parents. My father is at present working at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. His field of work is Material Science. He is basically a physicist. He does a lot of research on crystals. His favorite pass time is reading. He belongs to a city called Hyderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.

My mother is working as school teacher, in a school called Oppurtunity school . She teaches class 3 and also is the class teacher of the same. Her favorite pass time is reading and chatting on the phone to her friends. She belongs to a place called Bangalore, in the state of Karnataka, India.

Dad, Mom & Myself

Myself in a Salwar Kurta a typical Indian outfit

I was born in Bangalore too, but I was brought up completely at Kanpur, were my father is working at present. I have a total of eight cousins from maternal and paternal sides. And I am the eldest of them all. I am quite close to most of my cousins.

Myself, mom and dad like to travel a lot. We have travelled across most of the states of Indian. We share a very special relation with each other. My parents have encouraged me always, in whatever I wanted to do. They have taught me to live in the right sense. All three of us believe in "Never be afraid of the shadow. This simply shows there is a light shining somewhere near by".

Though my mother and myself love pets, my father doesn't. So, we do not have any. But given a chance, we would definitely like to have a cute little dog as our pet. But actually, we do not really feel the absence of the pets as there are so many animals roaming around in our campus and the gardens that it is enough for us. We see plenty of dogs and their pups, monkeys and their young ones, Nilgais, rabbits, peacocks, a variety of birds (which i guess are not even seen India's famous bird sanctuaries), snakes, snails, turtles, mongoose, ...etc. In that sense,we are actually very close to nature.
