LEFT (Upper): KRCL launched this ad to emphasize their talented multi-faceted solutions approach.

LEFT (Lower): The Madgaon Janshatabdi was the first (and most successful) train to be launched on 16th April 2002 to commemorate the start of the 150th year of Indian Railways. This ad is for the function for flagging off the service.

RIGHT: Advertisement for the Madgaon Janshatabdi with inauguration dates, schedules, coaching and booking information.


LEFT: The ad announcing KR's innovative Ro-Ro service for truckers. The service was launched between Kolad & Suratkal, but now operates between Kolad and Verna. 

RIGHT: Ad Announcing Special Trains for Ganeshotsav 2001. The busiest season in the year for KR is the Ganesh Festival in August-September. Thus a number of holiday specials are run for this period. Rakes and Servixces are provided by Central Railway.

LEFT: Stamp released on 01st May 1998, the day on which the Konkan Railway was dedicated to the Indian nation, in a function in Ratnagiri. The top picture is a close-up of the stamp and the special KR seal. The lower image is the complete FIRST DAY COVER which features a picture of a train emerging from the Dasgaon Tunnel. 

RIGHT: Arjun Balwant Walawalkar - the Father of the Konkan Railway. Walawalkar conceived the idea of the Konkan railway and campaigned for his whole life after retirement from an humble job in the then BB & CI Railways in its Drawing Department, though his concept has become a reality only now.
