Salute To The

"Six Seniors"

Of

"Kokomo Lady Kats"

"2002-2003"

This city of Kokomo takes this time to acknowledge the six seniors of our Kokomo Lady Wildkats who have given this fan and all others some great basketball. They will leave us with a memory of skill, unselfish play, and a legend of what it takes to make a great team. I speak for all in that this group of young ladies will go out into the world to take the rest of it by storm. For most of them, we have observed them for four years and we watched as they matured into great examples of what it takes to grow up in this world. This writer adopted all of these girls as soon as they put on a Kat uniform, and I have been overwhelmed with joy as I sit there watching them do what they do best. Thanks to each of you.

Oh I have so much fun watching those LadyKats

Here is a young lady who had a goal of finishing her high school as one of the best basketball players for Kokomo High School. When she came off the bench , you could see the confidence in her way of taking the ball down-court and finding the open player . When she took the shot , she was sure of making it. She never took bad shots at the basket and this is a sign of a great player. I hope that Whitney finds the rainbow and the treasure that lies there for her. Thanks Whitney for giving Uncle Ray a lot of great nights watching you do what you do best. Much success to you.

This young lady could play as a starter on any team, but she came off the bench to relieve one of the starters. Gretchen caught my eye when she was a sophmore, and I could see the raw talent she had, but it didn't come out that year. In her junior year she came off the bench with desire and confidence, and she has become a power player destined to be able to do whatever she wants to do. Hold your head high and reap the results. I know that you will excell in whatever you want out of life. Thanks for a great show you put on, and keep up that desire.

What can be said about this young lady that hasn't been said already? Here is a young lady who has desire and the knowledge of the sport and capable of great expectations and results. I remember her mother when she played at Haworth and I see the same moves from this wonderful girl. The desire she has will overflow in whatever she wants in life, and she will excell in the sport as long as she wants to. Thanks DeUnna for making my games enjoyable.

"Ashley Hayes"

Ashley came to Kokomo from Western to play as a Lady Wildkat in her final two years. She was an exceptional player there and she carried on with the same desire at Kokomo. She is and always will be a complete player who knows when to shoot and when to pass to a open player. What a rebounder this young lady is and she is a great defensive player too. Having been a member of the same class as her grandfather, I feel like she is part of my family. Thanks Ashley for coming to Kokomo and for being the great lady you are.

What a nice young lady she is and when she brought the ball downcourt, the opposing team had to spread out because not only is she a speeding bullet going to the basket, she is also an elert player that knows where her fellow team members are. Going to the basket and putting up her great shot in a way that only she can was a sight to see.I know that her family is very proud of her as she played with a heavy heart and a great desire. Thanks Ashley, for your desire.

"Anne Thatcher"

Here is a young lady  who puts up those 3 pointers with ease. From her first year as a Lady Kat, she showed promise and she showed results. Anne played with desire and she was a team player who knew where the other four players were at all times. You didn't see her taking too many bad shots and she was fast at taking the ball to the basket. Anne will entertain those on the college floors with her exceptional play. And when she goes forth into the world she will excell at whatever she desires to do. Thanks Anne for all the fun these past four years.

These six young ladies finished out thier high school career just as they wish for as they went undefeated this year and they took home the 4A ISHAA Championship. What more can we ask of them?

We wish the best to each and everyone of these six wonderful ladies, as they go out into the world and excell at whatever thier goal in life is. You have been a lot of fun to watch and enjoy. From Uncle Ray and Uncle Rut.
