How safe is it to travel to Koh Mook ?

Flights from Bangkok to Trang or Krabi is by Boeing 734. Koh Mook is approximately 7 miles from the

mainland. A longtail boat ride from Kuan Tungku pier to Koh Mook takes 30-40 minutes. It sails in the protected

inner sea between Koh Mook and the mainland. The boat is equipped with life-jackets for all passengers. On very

rare occasions guests may have to wait one or two hours for the tide.

How is the security on Koh Mook ?

Koh Mook is a small fishing village. The general population on the island is Thai Muslim and they are a very

humble and peace-loving people. Crime on the island is extremely rare.

Is there a hospital on the island ?

Koh Mook has a small Health Center with certified nurses. If the problem is serious, guests can charter a

longtail boat to Kuan Tungku pier and a bus to the hospital in Kantang District. It takes altogether approximately

1-2 hours. Guests under medical care should take their own prescriptions.

How are food and drinks prices on Koh Mook ?

As a pristine destination, Koh Mook is rich in natural seafood such as fish, squid and crab. Every morning

fishermen deliver fresh seafood directly from the sea to our restaurant. The seafood prices are cheaper than on

P P Island. Other dishes and refreshments are also cheaper than on other nearby islands. The beer price is 40-60

baht for a small bottle and 60 baht for large Beer Chang. Some western cuisine is also served at Koh Mook

Charlie Beach Resort including American or Continental breakfast, shark steak, onion soup, green salad, French

fries, spaghetti, hamburger, French bread and sandwiches etc.
