Off to Petropolis, the old city. This was where the King of Portugal escaped to while trying to avoid Napoleon Bonaparte. At one time the actual Capital of Portugal.

With the clouds above we get a little adventurous and decide to take the metro to the city center... Centro.

Still overcast. Time to just chill and check out Ipenema beach and H. Stern Jewelers..
What do we come to expect of our travel destinations. Too much sometimes, maybe not enough in others. But always, the brain just needs to shut it self off and relax. The world around then just becomes clear and regardless of where you are, it always feels like paradise.

We finally are in paradise but it seems that no one told us that it rains in Rio.... hmmm. Well off to do some shopping...
