What do we need to get through the day? What are the things that make us want to smile… or do we just do it involuntarily without thought? I wonder about the happiness in our lives and the world that it is built by. People go to homes decorated with the aroma of foreign spices and eat the world apart. What beautiful lives we live.
With all this… is it enough. Do we still need more. Do we have to make these simplified complications to make our steps taller.
I think I’ve settled for 95% when really 80 is all I need. My home is larger that I can live in. The clothes I bought have one too many zeros on the price tag. All this and a bag of chips ahoy. And yet, once something simple as the kisses in the wind elude me, I feel like trying the climbing the wall again. What is it that gives us the strength to rise, but not that to fall. We are so diligent in the pursuit of excellence, but so shameless in the presence if defeat. I wish I knew how to forget the days in between the humps and ride away high. I wish walking away was something that people only sang about.
When we lose it all, a little less may not be so bad. The years creep up on us, and we can still enjoy the time. Enough becomes the less that we had from yesterday… and today, I walk in the park again looking for those endless kisses…
