Bangs, crop tops, bell bottoms, mullets, mohawks, stripes, suspenders, overalls, low rise, baggy, flared, pastel colors…

Liked everything in this world, as time progresses, things are defined the first time around, and then things are redefined from something in the past, once again. Sampling, stealing, modifications… all just a redefinition. All a tribute to the past. All making us think of what things were before. For the ones that lived through it the first time, a cool patronage. And for the others that view it as the first definition… well, they might not get to full effect of it all…

In the 00’s, it seem that many of the styles of popular culture that has arisen have been taken from the past… The 70’s bell bottoms, the 80’s hairstyles and cloths, 60’s jackets…music samples from all over. And we call it Retro… the retro 80’s. or retro this, or retro that… and soon, like everything else, style gets old and people move on to another fad or craze, and that becomes the new hot thing. So when we get older and start fitting into the things people in our age groups are supposed to fit into, and this new breed of style conscious youth arises and are starting to define their popular culture, where will they start looking?

It will come to a point again that we will start to look back once more. So say in 20 years time, we decide to look to 2004 and see this funky style that was the Retro 80’s. Will they call it a the Retro 80’s, or is it Retro 04’s… or do they call it a Retro Retro. What do you call something that has already been brought back once? Who's style is it then? Sure there will always be the present day additions, but in this lifetime, I have yet to see the present bring back the past twice over. When the time comes, how they will look back on this time and how will they begin to define or even call it?

Hmmm, retro retro retro…
