It has taken millions of years to get things to the point they are. Consider it a million year old experiment, this little planet of ours. How long has evolution taken for people to get to where they are now…?
There was a maker, call it mother nature, call it god, call it the divine spirit of creation, call it an experiment… The seed was planted for life and life found a way to recreation, reproduction and letting itself live on.
Everything that we know of the past, it is all by interpretation of artifacts, or old scripture, but there was no solid definition of civilization the way that we can document it now. So in the last millennia’s of people, we just have little account of the truth. There is just speculation, a string of educated guesses. But forget history. We seem to know so much and have the ability to change the way nature is to work. The history has no lessons…
Consider that 20 years ago, we had computers that could do a simple math problem in 10 minutes… and now they can do millions of computations in micro seconds. Still maybe not as fast or complex as the human brain… but we are getting there. We have figured out more about the mechanics of ourselves in the last 100 years then in the last 5000 of our existence. So when we are able to map out the blueprint of ourselves, does that mean that we are able to recreate ourselves? Are we on the verge of redefining humanity? Immortality?
Are we now our own gods?
We can create life, and manipulate nature… Was this a flaw in the human design, to have the ability to grow beyond that design.
In this last century alone, the world exists in a technological age in where there is no end of discovery. We are creating the world to be beyond what the limits are. Such simple fragile creatures capable of so much.
Movies like the Matrix and Terminator show that once computers achieve AI and are aware, their first instincts are survival and the ability to grow beyond what their basic programming is. We are those machines on the brink. We see the world beyond what is there. We understand the nature of our existence and wish to break free of it…
Can we finally understand the meaning of life…or are we doomed to destroy it all because we are breaking away from the natural evolution…
Just an experiment away…
