A person experiences many things in a lifetime....more than they can ever recall. Images, events, people. Sometimes the things that you routinely do or people you see all the time just seem to fade away. Why is it sometimes that the people you will remember the most are the people that have only come into your life for only a brief instant. Is it because you never had a chance to know them or find out much about them? Curiosity. It's this curiosity that drives us to look and ponder at others. We are all people watchers. How interesting would the world be if we knew everything about everyone?
I finish my riding class tonight. Myself, 9 other students and 2 instructors. People of all different descents and age groups meeting for the last 6 night for the same reason. These are people that I would never have had a chance to know in regular circumstances. Jean the 55 year old who been riding on the back of bike all her life but never learnt to ride herself... Joe, the Japanese man who is trying to recapture his youth by taking up a hobby from 10 years ago....Sean, the outdoors man from Whistler... Matt, our instructor, who teaches us his love, but his love has become work and no longer a passion... Suzanne, Jeff, Terren, Mike...I guess a common thread brings people together from uncommon worlds.
I am fascinated and curious of their lives. I wonder what they do, who they are, or what stories they have. Where do their lives go from here. You learn so much about each individual in a short while, but never enough. The course is over, the goodbyes are said, world move on... I still wonder...
I probably would have got sick of them once
I knew them.....
