The pursuit of one thing will ultimately make you lose sight of your pursuit of another. Are we beings that are so easily distracted that we cannot multitask like the machines that we use every day. It seem like all this capable mind of ours can do is focus on one task at a time. We get set in our ways and the next thing you know.....
In the pursuit of the different achievements in lives, it would seem that they are all a conglomerate of goals that had been set out ... what people fail to see is that sometime we don't see so clear. That down payment on the house you had been working so hard towards has destroyed your life. Not to say stashing away tens of thousands of dollars is bad but... FOCUS MAN!!! Focus on what you are doing... Does the pursuit of happiness ultimately make a person forget the simplicities in life. The true things that make a person happy. We forget one thing and move to another not really knowing if this is happiness or the next. One day we are eating chocolate covered almond and that is happiness and the next, we are playing golf at an exclusive country club... Happiness? It's what we want that make us fill that need but do any of us really know what we want... just say happiness right! There are always substitutes for substitutes.
Now what about the pursuit of love... does that supercede the pursuit of happiness. What's the difference??? One can be true and the other can be an illusion...sounds like both doesn't... So, go pursue love and tell me if that is happiness. If it is, then sign me up... But remember, that road is blind...
The pursuit of knowledge....now here's a good one... knowing the world can have its advantages but can you learn to love the world... We never stop learning, we just learn to like it more.... It's a pursuit that can never have end but always has the rewards... but how many kids do you know these day who dream to be loveless scholars...
Cant say that ambition and goals are a bad thing... I just think that there is a strange clouded view how things can be perceived. How people don't realize what's important until they have everything that they want and realize, they would rather trade it all in to just be back at square one. It's so easy to get lost in thought and lost in vision.. and lost in emotion... but FOCUS MAN!!!! It'll all be clear and balanced out....
I think my heads going for a melt down...Ctrl-Alt-Del.......
