poets' soul
emerald heart image - orginal artwork - koalaghost design
The poets' soul a solitary introverted place
Reflections in a pool of self embrace
Where all the good and bad in life meet to mingle in the dark
A melting pot , a cauldron boiled for balance
Words come in a trickle or a flood no levy can withstand
Sometimes a silent whisper, a pen nib dipped in blood
Some nudging gently 'til they're noticed and acknowledged
Some screaming for attention on demand
Listen... can you not hear the legions in my mind?
Triggered by a sight, a smell, a thought I left behind
Word-armies barking orders, forming structures in the void
Unstoppable,  advancing, yet when I turn..destroyed
Fear and sadness, joy, the bleakness of  despair
Through fingers wisp and float to waiting page
Uncontrolled,  painting a portrait of a soul stripped harshly bare
A tiger, pacing angry in his cage
