My pages look awful in Netscape

Under pagebuilder "Format" "Page Properties" there are two layout options
"Center Page" and "Layered HTML"
The layering option is the default, and allows you to overlap elements on your page
Trouble is, it produces some very strange coding behind the scenes, and Netscape is extremely strict when it comes to translating code into a viewable page.

If it is important to you that your page will appear exactly as you designed it in all browsers, go to "Format" "Page Properties" and uncheck the box next to "Layered html", then check the "Center Page" option. This will mean you cannot overlap elements, and you may have to do some re-arranging on your page, but no matter which browser your visitors are using, your page will view exactly as you intended.

How do I add sound or music to my page ?

You can copy this code, replacing the red areas with your own file name

DO NOT try to upload sound files while you are in pagebuilder. Log in to http://www.geocities.com On the right hand side of the page you'll see a link to
File Manager - Click on that, then open File Manager
Use the Ezi-upload facility to upload your files.
Then in pagebuilder, Follow the instructions on the previous page to insert the html code,
positioning the small console where you want it on your page.
Always give your visitors the option of adjusting the volume or stopping the music.

Can I add Flash to my page ?

You can - and you do it in exactly the same way as you add sound (see previous question)
Here is the code for embedding a Flash Movie - Just copy and replace the red areas with your own detail. Try not to have your file too big (takes too long for your page to load)

How Can I stop people stealing my images ?

The short answer is..YOU CAN'T. There is no way at the moment to effectively protect your images. You can only hope to slow down the very few amateurs who haven't yet learned all the tricks. If it is your own original work, save a couple of stages as you go. Email a copy to yourself so you have a dated copy. Try to always put your name or an identifying mark on your work. That way, if you know who is using your stuff, you can take action if they refuse to remove it. Report them to their server, or ISP.
You can disable right click on your site, but mostly all this does is really annoy left handed surfers.

If you are using Geocities pagebuilder, you'll need to highlight the code, hit "control" "c" to copy it to your clipboard, open PB, and follow the "insert html code" instructions I've given on the previous page.
Just position the bue script box somewhere that it doesn't interfere with your layout, save, & you're done. :)
