COACHING

Knox Cougars Committee would like to bring to the attention of it's members the issue of Coach shortages. At the end of each season many players and parents anxiously await the call from the new coach, informing them of their team and details etc.

In the weeks leading up to finals, co-ordinators are often tearing their hair out arranging teams, training venue schedules and most importantly COACHES for each team. With so many teams in our club it's not always easy to find enough Coaches to go around, remembering it is a VOLUNTARY position, many do it for the love of the game and the kids.

Only half of our Coaches are parents of players, the rest being B'ball minded folk who give up their time to help train and develop your childs love of the sport. At least 8 of our Cougars coaches do more than one team, and as the seasosn go by and our club grows in size we are always going to be in need of more coaches, as the ones we have are not going to be around forever, as much as we would like to think they will be.

So if you feel you could have what it takes to coach a team please approach your year level co-ordinator and we'd be happy to put you on board with a current coach for a season or two to learn the ropes or recommend a coaching clinic to attend, these are always available through the KBi.

For without this remarkable creature...

"THE COACH" TEAMS JUST WOULD NOT EXIST
