One of the biggest effects of the war on terrorism is the added stress to our every day lives, wondering what will happen next, missing that loved one lost on September 11, or when, if ever you loved one will come back from Afganistan.  Our Nation has been through tough times before but this one was a real challenge for us as Americans.  It is suprising how good can come out of such a terrible experience.  We have come together as a nation so well that I am more proud than ever to be an American.  America must be a symbol of Strength ans Power to other people. We are a race of people so couragous and patriotic, that we have firefighters and other people who risk there lives every day to help save their fellow citizens.  Take September 11 for example, so many firefighters died saving people when they knew that their odds of making in and out of the building were against them.  And it is not just the firefighters who are this couragous it is the every day common man.
The stock market was hit hard by Septemer 11. Many companies lost jobs in the tragic events.
Are our airlines really safe?  Some Americans are now having doubts.  According to BBC News some things that have been proposed are improved scanners, tighter check in security, and maybe even banning hand luggage although this might not have much affect they say.  Also automatic piloted planes, surveillance cameras, onboard marshalls, and double layer bullet proof doors to protect the cockpit have been suggested.  These new cockpit doors can stop bullets and fragments of grenades.

The President has released a September 11 stamp.  It will sell for 45 cents with 8 of those going to the Victims' funds.
