How to make your computer load fast at startup?
Remove floppy drive check at every startup
Right click My Computer -> select Properties->Select the tab Performance -> Advanced settings click File System->select the Tab Floppy Disk->Un check Search for New floppy disk drive every time computer starts.
Remove unnecessary startup programs
If you really want speed up your old computer do not give too much load to your computer
Remove wallpapers, -right click an empty spot at desk top ->properties ->background->wall paper->select None
Remove active desk top-right click an empty spot at desk top->active desktop ->uncheck view as web page
Remove All the programs shortcut from start->programs-> startup, unless you need a particular programs at startup.
Do not clutter the task bar with lot of Icons. Remove all unwanted programs occupying taskbar.
start->settings ->Control panel->add remove programs -> remove unused programs
try to keep minimum necessary programs only
Keep the desk top with minimum Icons,
Don't use more than one Antivirus software.
Don't use more than one firewall
clean a make slim the registry by using any registry cleaning software's.
scan and remove all viruses, ad wares, spy wares, batch files, Automatic dialing programs by using some special software's
Always Explorer view
When you open a folder, if you want it always show a explorer view for easy navigation do this
- "Open any folder
- Choose View -> Folder options.->File Types
- Locate the Folder entry.
- Choose Edit.
- Select Explorer, and finally...
- Press Set as default, and leave the dialogs using OK/Close.
Now whenever you open any sort of folder, may it be a drive/directory, the Control Panel or your Mobile Devices folder, you automatically get the two-paned Explorer view for easier navigation."
If you don't want this option repeat the above steps, but in the 5th step select open instead of explorer

When you copy files from Temporary Internet files it may add some numbers with file name rename it into correct name

You may working with a file. Suddenly a message "Illegal operation " appears and it closed You may lose the work. But in that cases sometimes you can found that pages in the Windows/Temp folder and able to open or delete these files
Identify downloaded files
If you are frequently download some programs or zip file from the internet ,later you may face difficulties to identify the files by their short names. To avoid this confusion rename the files with full name or enter full name while saving in the hard disk. And also save web pages contain the description about that files in the same folder

Hiding Start Menu Folders
If you want to hide certain folders in the start menu ( the StartUp menu for example ) , right-click that folder on the start menu. choose Properties. Change the attribute to hidden. Since the start-menu won't display hidden items, it won't be displayed.
