| The Juniors Program allows highschool teens (ages 14-18) to participate in learning fire fighting and/or rescue skills. There are currently about 20 members with their own officers plus three advisors. A junior may join the Fire Department at age 17 providing they have at least two years of membership as a junior. When they become a member, they can start required training as a firefighter or rescue squad member before going to college if it is in their future. The juniors attend two or four sundays a month of duty/training depending on whether they want to be fire or rescue. There is also a business/training meeting once a month, along with events/activities through the course of the year. If you are interested, contact the department at 499-8836 and leave your name with the dispatcher and an advisor or officer will get back to you. You can also contact an officer through the links below or by directly talking to one. The Juniors Program also has the availability for experienced members to ride on rescue calls on Friday & Saturday nights and Sunday Mornings. This "ride-along" program is open to a select few whom the advisors deem eligibible through experience, knowledge, and activeness. |
