The Memorial Hospital, Emergency Room

Alexis paced slowly the corridors of the emergency admission back and forth, a plastic cup of coffee in her hand, waiting for the end of Zach’s surgery, when Steven spotted her and quickly strode over. “I was looking for you, mother. Your office told me that you canceled all your appointments and where I would find you.”

“I’m glad you’re here.” She said exhausted, putting her head on his chest, before looking up at him. “Amanda told me what happened at the La Mirage. Are you okay, darling?”

“I’m fine. Just a little tired, that’s all.” Steven assured her. Alexis examined him. He didn’t look well, in fact he looked miserable. “Why are you here? Obviously it’s not because of Blake.” Steven wondered.

They sat down where Alexis had a clear view of the doors to the operation area. “No ... it’s not because of your father.” She replied, thinking about how to tell her son about what had happened the night before, or more precise how much to tell him. “Zach was shot.” She explained.

“Shot?!” Steven was shocked, even though he felt nothing but aversion for Zach Powers, and he had never approved of his mother’s relationship to him. But he tried to put his feelings aside, since she seemed to care about him. “Do they think he’ll survive?” Steven asked.

“They didn’t say anything yet, but I pray he will.” Alexis said, glancing at the clock on the wall. The surgery was lasting for hours already.

“Who shot him? Do the police have any suspects?” Steven wanted to know.

Alexis hesitated. Caress was dead, Zach was fighting for his life, and she felt very alone in all this mess. She wanted to tell Steven what had happened the night before, but changed her mind at the last second. “He was found at Caress’s apartment.” She said, trying to evade his question.

“What? Caress shot him?” He asks in disbelief.

She took a deep breath. “I don’t know ... Caress is dead.”

Steven stared at her, confused and shocked. He had never been close to his aunt, and since she came back to Denver they had been on the odds, but he couldn’t help but feel sorrow for he “What happened?”

“They police told me she fell from the terrace of her penthouse.” Alexis explained.

The news sent a chill down his spine. It reminded him of the Marc Jennings case. He looked at his mother, being worried for her. “I’m so sorry.” He said, taking her hand in his to comfort her.

“I didn’t want her death. You believe me that I didn’t want it, don’t you?” She asked with guilt in her tone.

Steven wondered. What was this question supposed to mean? “I know.” He assured her. “What ever happened between Zach and Caress it’s not your fault.”

Alexis looked down at her shoes, feeling tears well up in her eyes. Her son had no idea how wrong he was.

After a few seconds of silence a thought hit Steven. “What does that mean for Colby Co? Do you know who will inherit her stock?”

Of course Alexis had asked herself that question already, and the answer worried her. “I wish I knew ...” She started to say when she saw a doctor walking up to them. “Mrs. Colby ...” He said.

“Doctor, how is he?” She asked.

“Mr. Powers survived the surgery, but his condition is very critical. The internal damage was considerable and one of the bullets couldn’t be removed. He’s still unconscious and I don’t want to give you false hope; Mr. Powers may not make it through the next 24 hours.

Alexis was appalled. “Can I see him?”

“I’m sorry, He’s in intensive care; no visitors are allowed right now.” He declined her request. “If there’s any change in Mr. Powers’ condition, we let you know.” He added, before he turned to leave. And again there was nothing to do but wait.

Paris, France- Monica’s suite

“What is going on out here?” Sable yelled. “The way the three of you are arguing you would think Napoleon was on the move again.” She said trying to cut the tension.

“I’m sorry mother.” Cameron spoke. “Monica asked Daddy to stay with us, but he doesn’t want too. Right, dad?”

“Dex, why wouldn’t you want to stay with us?”

“Maybe it’s not such good idea, darling. You need your rest. I don’t want to bother you”

“Bother me? Dex, you are going to be my husband soon. I want you to stay here with us.”

“But mother, you are just starting to recover form your accident” Cameron interfered. Monica smiled to herself. The kid was good. Almost like his half sister.

“Oh, nonsense, Dex will stay with us here”

“Sable, I don’t want to cause any trouble.” Dex said, as he walked over her. “Maybe it’s best that I stay in my own suite.”

“No, I want you here with me, besides we are getting married, aren’t we?”

Dex recently nodded. Monica gave him a nasty look, but kept her mouth shut, knowing that it was a loosing battle when her mother wanted something.

Cameron walked slowly out of the room “Grown ups”

“Now Dex, go pour me some juice.” Sable said as she sat down. “I think we should talk about the wedding plans, don’t you Monica?”

Monica bit her lip as she sat down. “Yes mother.”

Denver Memorial Hospital- Miles room

Amanda stood and listened quietly as the doctors explained Miles condition, knowing that with each sentence they uttered that Miles was in a precarious position. When they were finished she finally spoke.

“But will he make it, doctor?”

“It’s touch and go right now. The metal pierced his heart. It’s not like most organs. It will take months to heal, and an infection would mean bad blood flowing throughout his body, which in turn would poison other major organs like the liver, lungs, and even his brain.”

“What can we do for him?”

“There isn’t anything more we can do for him, its up to his body to heal, we will monitor his progress, and check his blood hourly, the next few days are critical for him.”

The doctors began to leave, and Amanda turned back to Miles’ bed. “Oh Miles please wake up” she said and watched as the breathing machine contracted and expanded with each breath. Amanda wiped a tear form her eyes, and then bent over Miles’ body, gently kissing his forehead.

“Get away frrm him!“ Fallon yelled as she entered the room. “The doctors just told us what you caused him.”

“Fallon please, its’ not her fault” Jeff tried to interject, but Fallon was in full furry.

“Don’t you defend her Jeff, every man that gets tangled up with her eventfully pays, and some with their lives” She attacked her sister. Amanda looked at her, and then ran out.

„You’ll never learn, Fallon“ Jeff said to his wife and walked out the room.

“Amanda wait” Jeff caught up with her and pulled her towards him. “Please, she only upset; you mustn’t let her get to you.”

“She right Jeff, if Miles dies it’s my fault.”

“He’s going to pull through this, he tough.” Amanda broke into tears again and hugged Jeff tightly.

“Jeff, I’m so sorry, if I hadn’t lied to Dex, if I hadn’t upset you Miles would be okay.” She cried.

“It’s all right, Amanda. It’s all right“ Jeff tried to calm her. “I never should have attacked you like I did, but its in the past now, we have to be strong, for Miles, and your father.”

“Your right” She wiped her eyes, and sat on a near by chair. “How is he?”

“Better. I guess he’ll go back home soon“

“Good. At least he survived“ she said. Oh, Jeff, I’m so afraid for Miles.”

“You really care about him don’t you?”

„I love him.”

Jeff smiled, “Good. He’s going to need all the love you can give him when he wakes up“ he said while back inside Miles room, Fallon sat quietly holding Miles’ hand.

“Miles, you have to wake up, you just have to.” She watched him silently.

Colby Co, Caress’s office

Alexis sat in Caress’s office and went over all the documents that her sister had left behind, looking for something that could cause trouble for the company. Caress’s death in itself didn’t mean a catastrophe for Colby Co, since she had hardly got involved into business matter because for her lack of knowledge and experience in the oil business. Alexis and Steven had only made her signing papers in her position as CEO, but successfully managed to keep her out of the deals.

But even if Caress had controlled the company only theoretically, she held the majority of stock, and Alexis had no idea who would inherit her sister’s shares in Colby Co. She needed clarity to take measures against a possible hostile takeover. She pressed the button on the intercom, connecting her to the secretary. “Get me Kenneth Maher on the phone.” She instructed her, wanting to talk to her sister’s lawyer.

“Yes, Mrs. Colby.” The secretary’s voice came across the intercom. “Mam ...” She started to continue.

“What else, Sarah?”

“Two detectives working for the Denver Police Department are here to talk to you.” She announced.

“Send them in.” Alexis replied, closing the file she had been reading. Preparing herself for the questioning to come, she leaned back in the leather chair and watched nervously as the office door opened and the secretary showed the two men in.

Sgt. Lewis was the first to speak. “Thank you for seeing us, Mrs. Colby.”

Alexis nodded her head and motioned for the two police detectives to sit down. “Please have a seat.” She offered and waited until they had taken seat in the chairs in front of the glass desk, before she went on. “Quite frankly I don’t know how I can help you. I just can’t understand what happened the other night.”

“We hope you can give us some information about your sister, which may help us to understand what happened between Mrs. Morel and Mr. Powers.” Sgt. Lewis explained.

“Your sister came to Denver about one year ago?” His younger partner inquired.

“She lived in Europe over the past 15 years, most of the time in Italy, until her husband died and she moved to London.” Alexis explained.

“You and Mrs. Morel were co-owners of Colby Co?” Lewis continued questioning.

“That’s right.” Alexis answered generous, determined not to show any signs of hostility toward her sister. “Colby Co was in a difficult situation when my sisters joint the company.”

Harper took out a note pad and began writing. “Please correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Colby Co in difficulties BECAUSE of Mrs. Morel. We’re informed that the FBI investigated against her. She was accused to belong to an organization, known as the Consortium ...”

Alexis cut him off. “The investigation was dropped.”

“What can you tell us about the nature of your sister’s relationship to Mr. Powers?” Lewis inquired.

“He’s an old friend and business associate.” Alexis replied, trying to evade the question.

“I’ve heard they were in fact engaged once ... until your sister was convicted in Caracas for the murder on Ricardo Chávez, your boyfriend, Mrs. Colby.”

Alexis sighed. “Sgt. Lewis, that happened such a long time ago. Why is that relevant?”

“I’m sorry, Mrs. Colby, but it’s very relevant.” Sgt. Lewis said with determination. “I’m convinced that there is a connection. Zach Powers left your sister for you. I guess she wasn’t pleased about your affaire with him? Fact is that Mr. Powers was found shot at Mrs. Morel’s apartment. We couldn’t find the gun yet, but we can’t rule out that your sister tried to kill Mr. Powers and committed suicide afterwards to evade a renewed conviction.”

Alexis hesitated. The police needed a suspect and obviously they saw the whole affair as an act of disappointed love and hurt feelings. Maybe this was the best solution. Caress was dead and hopefully the case would be dropped soon, because the last thing Alexis wanted was that the public spotlight was put on this old story about Ricardo Chávez’s death again.

A car somewhere in Billings, Montana

Dana drove slowly trying to consintrate on the road. Mrs. Litton looked at her watch, and impatiently awaited Dana get them back to the lodge. “Come on, I have a schedule to keep.”

Dana whispered. “And I have an even more important schedule to keep.” She gently tapping her chest, inside was the recording devise that the police had given her. She would make Mrs. Litton pay for everything she had done to the Carrington’s.

“I have a call to make.” Mrs. Litton said, as she motioned Dana to go towards where they left the car. Mrs. Litton smiled in triumph, finally Jeremy’s sprit could be at rest, Adam had paid, and paid with his life, and as soon as she called Lindsay, Well she would find out what happened to Blake and his family.

While Mrs. Litton was thinking about vindication, Dana was remembering the events that transpired four days ago.

FLASHBACK: Dana’s Apartment, Four days earlier...

„Dana, please. Don’t do this. Don’t LET THEM do this“ Adam begged as Dana stood in front of him, holding the gun in her arms and was about to press the triger. „Come on, honey. You don’t want to do that. I know you don’t want too. It’s Mrs. Litton who manipluted you. You’re not doing this of your own free will. You are nothing like them“ he continued and came closer to her. He remembered that his father was in the same position when the consortium had Krystle try to kill him, after the lunitaic from the clinic in Switzerland trained her too.

„You have to die, you have to“ Dana said like she was a robot and pulled the triger. Like in a slowmotion you see only in movies, Adam jumped on her and grabbed the gun. They both felt on the floor with the gun that flew. The gunshot missed them both

“Oh, Adam, I almost killed you“ Dana burst into tears; Adam hold her in his arms.

Adam exhaled a deep breath or relief. “For a moment there I thought that I wasn’t going to be able to break through to you.” Adam was referring to the programming done by the consortium.

“Adam, I want her to pay for what she almost made me do to you.” Dana kept going through mood swings. One minute anger, the next remorse, “I just got you back in my life.” She touched his cheek. “And I could have killed you.”

“But you didn’t and that’s all that matters.”

“What are we going to do now?” Dana sat up. “If you don’t turn up dead, she will come back here, and kill the both of us.”

“I have an idea, get your coat.” Adam said as he got his keys. “Is Phil Morris still the chief of police here?”

“No, but his son is.” Dana said as she put her coat on. “Why?”

“Because we are going to sit a little trap for our fine Jamaican friend” Adam smiled to her.

Back To The present

Dana was brought back to reality as Mrs. Litton screamed at her.

„What the hell are you doing, you want to kill us both?“

Dana looked at the road. Drivers where beeping her and yelling at her. She wanted so much to yell at them back and says she is prisoner but she knew she have to be patient.

„I’m sorry“ she said and looked at Mrs. Litton.

„You better be, now focus at the road!“ She ordered her. Dana watched the road but her mind kept thinking of the events that brought her here...

FLASHBACK: The Billing Police Station, three days Earlier

“Thank you Sheriff Morris, I know this is all hard to believe” Adam said. He had spent the last hour telling the story of Mrs. Litton, and the consortium, and the events of the past year. The sheriff listened to all what he had to say.

“To tell you the truth, I thought you were a nut case, and it was only because Dana vouched for you that I didn’t toss you in a cell.” Chris Morris laughed. “I phoned Denver, and spoke to the authorities there, and everything checked out. The only thing you left out was your time in a mental hospital. Since your escape, your family, and the authorities in Denver have found out the truth. They are very worried for you“

“I’m sure. I guess I should phone my family, but I want to wait until all of this is over.” The three talked for a bit longer formulating a plan to trap Mrs. Litton.

“I don’t know if I want you to take a chance like this.” Adam said.

“This is the only way. I’ll be fine. I promise.” Dana said.

Back To The present

The tears began swepping her eyes when she thought that maybe Adam was right. Maybe it really was a mistake.

“I told you to stop crying.” Mrs. Litton spat, she was in the passenger seat, pointing a gun at Dana, who was driving them back to the hotel.

“How can you be so smug?” Dana asked.

“Because I was trained to be, it’s the only way I know how to act.” Mrs. Litton replied.

“A man is dead, A good man.” She started to cry again.

“Let me tell you something about a good man.” Mrs. Litton began. “Jeremy Van Dorn was the love of my life, I met him when I was 19, he took me under his wing, trained me in business, politics, Life, and eventually we became lovers.”

“What dose's that have to do with Adam?”

“Adam Carrington killed the only man I ever loved.” Mrs. Litton noticed the look of shock on Dana’s face. “Your good man killed Jeremy Van Dorn in cold blood, and that is the reason the consortium and I had you kill Adam.”

“I still don’t understand.”

“It’s very easy my dear, an eye for an eye.”

Dana took a deep breath, “Now that I am finished, what is to become of me.”

Mrs. Litton turned her face towards Dana and smiled. “All you need to worry about is getting us back to the hotel; your final payment will soon follow.”

The Mansion - The Next Day

Blake was glad he could finally leave the hospital and return home. He couldn’t stand lying in bed all day long; especially when he knew there were so many things to look after. And even though the doctor had told him to rest for at least three more days, Blake wasn’t about to follow that order.

„Good Day Mr Carrington. Good to have you back,“ Jourad said when he opened the front door of the mansion and Blake, Jeff and Krystle entered.

„Thank you Jourad,“ Blake replied and then added: „Oh, Jourad. Would you please contact the office for me and let them know that I’ll be back tomorrow?“

„Blake, I think you should get back to bed and rest,“ Krystle touched his arm.

„Honey“, Blake turned around. „I have slept enough in the hospital. I’m fine!“ he stated.

„Krystle is right Blake,“ Jeff said. He didn’t want his father-in-law to throw himself back into the business life immediately. Things were still a bit rough and turmoiled and Blake still hadn’t recovered completely.

„I AM FINE!“ Blake said loud. Then his head started spinning. He touched it and tumbled a bit backwards. He saw Adam in front of him. Then Lindsay. Then Jeff and Krystle again. He looked at them. Jeff was just about to make a move towards Blake to catch him from fainting, when Blake mumbled: „...you’re...you’re right. Maybe I should rest...for a while“. Krystle took Blake’s arm softly, heading towards their bedroom. Jeff followed them.

„Now would you please finally tell me where Adam is?“ Blake asked Jeff after Krystle had closed the door behind them. Nobody had told him the truth about Adam. Only that he seemed to fine and was in Billings. But Blake knew that there was more to it. And he was concerned.

Jeff threw a glance at Krystle. She nodded. Blake had a right to know where his son was.

„He’s in Montana with Dana. They’re both fine and they’re coming in a few days“ He paused for a moment. „They are both fine“. Blake sighed deeply. Finally this terror has come to an end, he thought. Then he remembered again that there was Denver Carrington, waiting for its boss to return.

„What about Denver Carrington? If I have to stay here, somebody got to lead that company... And with Adam gone too...“ he shrugged.

„Don’t worry about that Blake. I’ll take care of it until you return to the office,“ Jeff said.

„And LB will help me. He’s very proud to do so,“ he added and tried to cheer Blake a bit up. Blake had to smile a bit. Finally his grandchildren were growing up and also became of the family’s empire. His empire.

„Alright then Jeff. I trust you and I know you’ll take good care of it.“ he padded Jeff’s shoulder. „And I’ll be back in a few days anyway.“

Krystle had just returned from the bathroom, where she had fixed her husband a warm bath. She had heard what Blake had said last and gave a Jeff a worried look. She sighed. She wasn’t sure when she was going to tell Blake, that he wasn’t going back to Denver Carrington for at least another three months. But she knew that she had to sooner or later.

Delta Rho

It wasn’t easy for Danny to stay in Denver and see Ashley together with LB everywhere. He couldn’t forget the picture of the two of them making love in Jim’s bad. He wanted so much to wake up and find out it was only a bad dream, but it was very much the reality. Though it wasn’t his falut and he couldn’t do anything to prevent this, he felt shame. Shame for being betrayed, for the fact it was not only his girlfriend who lied to him – it was his own cousin that stabbed him with knife. In his wildest dreams, he couldn’t imagine LB will do something like that to him. They always were very close and talked about everything, he was like his brother and more then he was angry on Ashley, he found LB’s betray as unforgivable.

He looked on his photo with Ashley, from the good days and ripped that apart. She already took all the things she had in Delta Rho. All he had now was to take all the things that remind her to him, and get rid of them.

“Danny? Can I come in?” he heard Krystina’s voice behind his door room.

“What do you want?” he asked angrily. He didn’t want to talk with anybody now. He didn’t need their pity. Krystina opened the door slightly and came inside.

“How are you?” she asked.

“What do you think?” he asked, bitterly.

“I’m sorry. I know it’s not easy” she said quietly. Danny didn’t answer her. She came closer to him and saw the pieces of what was the picture with him and Ashley. “You should know that I talk with them both and gave them some hard time about that. I know it won’t help you or something, but they feel terrible, really”

“Oh great, Krystina, just great Now you going excuse what they did!” he was very angry.

“No… Danny, not at all, I was the first one who attacked them and warned them!” she said and from the look on his face she knew immediately that she made a mistake.

“Warned them? What do you mean warn them? You knew about that?!” his couldn’t believe for what he heard just now.

“Danny, I tried to stop them, but – “

“I don’t believe this; it’s becoming more and more interested now. Who knows, maybe the whole family knew about that!” he yelled.

“No, Danny. Nobody knew. Just me, really”

“And you kept this to yourself? Instead of warn me what is happening behind my back, you just let me go on and live with that lie!”

“I wanted to tell you, Danny, I really do. I just didn’t want to see you getting hurt”

“What the hell did you think? That I’ll never find out? Hmm”

“I know you are very angry at me, and you have all the reason in the world to me, but – “

“But what?!” he cut her. “You are just like them, Krystina. I trussed you and told you everything. You knew how I felt! God, I sat here with you and told you how deeply I’m in love with this girl and want to move in with her. What a fool I was, the joke of the year!”

“No, no, it’s not true, don’t do this to yourself”

“Don’t do what? Blame myself? Why not? I was naive; I couldn’t believe my own family will do something like that to me! I never thought you’ll hide things from me this way, you of people, Krys!”

“At least give me the chance to explain, come on, Dan”

“Oh, leave me alone. I don’t want to hear this garbage. Just get out of here” he demanded. Krystina looked at him, surprised.

“Danny… I did planned to tell you” she tried one more time.

“Get the hell out of here, Krystina. Go!” he yelled again. Krystina turned around and left the room, leaving him still very much upset. He couldn’t stop the tears from sweeping his eyes, sat down on the bad and began crying as he was a little boy.

Krystina went downstairs and was about to leave the ranch when Sammy Jo entered.

“Krys how are you?” Sammy Jo hugged her cousin.

“Okay, I guess.” Krystina hugged her back.

“How is he?” Sammy Jo asked, meaning to her son.

“Angry and upset, he found out I knew. I didn't want to see him hurt so…” Krystina began to explain.

“It's okay, I understand, I had my suspicions too” Sammy signed worried.

“You look worried” Krystina stated.

“I am I wish he'd go back to Princeton. Staying here in Denver around Ashley and LB is going to lead to nothing but trouble. At least if he's away he can start to recover and let go” Sammy Jo explained.

“Well at least he knows now. Those two, how could they…” Krystina shook her head.

“Krys, I don't think you should judge them. And I’m not justifying what they did but they were acting on their feeling, like someone else I could mention…” Sammy Jo smiled.

“It's not the same thing, Sammy Jo. I wasn't betraying anyone” Krystina put her hand on her hips.

Sammy Jo raised her eyebrows but said nothing.

“They should have been honest with him from the beginning, that's all.” Krystina continued.

“Honey, love is irrational and illogical, they were impulsive. I don’t agree with what they did, but I'm made similar mistakes in my life” Sammy Jo rubbed her stomach and signed.

“Still, I think L.B. was selfish” Krystina stated.

“Forget about that now. What’s with you? You look radiant. Where have you be the lately?” Sammy Jo changed the subject.

“Well, I have some amazing news. Kyle and I eloped. I'm a married woman” Krystina beamed and show Sammy Jo her marriage ring on her finger.

Talking about being impulsive, Sammy Jo thought. “Wow! that's big!"

"Yes it is, hmm?"

"Yes... but... honey, are you sure this is what you want?” Sammy Jo asked worried.

”Yes, I love him. I knew the answer the second he asked me” Krystina smiled.

“We’ll, if it’s make you happy so… congratulations, I guess” Sammy Jo hugged her.

"Thanks, Sammy Jo. You've been amazing through all of this. You're the first person I told” Krystina pulled away.

“Don't keep it a secret for too long” Sammy Jo advised.

“I won't! I just have a feeling the rest of the family won't take it as well as you." Krystina chuckled.

Sammy Jo laughed.

“What's so funny?” Steven walked in his PJ and robs. Sammy Jo and Krystina exchanged looks.

“Girl stuff” Sammy Jo said.

“Yeah, how are feeling?” Krystina asked.

“Better thanks, just tired.” Steven sat down on the sofa.

“That's because he spend yesterday wondering around instead of resting.” Sammy Jo stated angrily. Krystina knew this was her cue.

“I'll get some of my things, I see you later. Feel better” Krystina kissed his cheek.

“Later” Steven stated.

“Saved by the bell” Sammy Jo smirked.

“Sammy Jo, please” Steven asked. She sat next to him. He didn't fight her. He looked so lost.

“Hey… is something wrong?” She asked him.

“It's Caress. She's dead”

“What?” Sammy Jo was shocked.

“Yes. She committed suicide after shooting Zach, almost killing him.” Steven explained.

“Oh my god, Steven, I'm so sorry. Do you know why?” she asked.

“I haven't got a clue. I think mother knows more than she told me but…” Steven stopped in mid sentence.

“Well with your mother you never know…” Sammy Jo said, half smiling. Steven looked at her and forced a smile on his face.

The burnt remains of La Mirage

Inside the temporary office of Fallon Colby, several insurance adjusters wait patiently for Fallon to speak.

“Well thank you gentlemen you’ve given me quiet a lot to think about” She stood and shook their hands as they left the room, when they were gone she turned to Jeff.

“Well that went better than I thought it would.” Jeff said

“Yes, sure” Fallon said cynical. ”The ballroom, three formal dinning rooms, and all the staff quarters, and offices are destroyed; I don’t think things could get much worse.”

“But the hotel is still open, the kitchen, rooms and grounds were unaffected by the fire.”

“Jeff, the guests are checking out at an alarming rate, and we are getting calls for cancellations left and right, and with Harold’s murder, the papers are just teaming with bad publicity.”

“Why would Harold’s death have anything to do with La Mirage?” Jeff asked.

“Because of the drug bust here, I’m sure he had many shady dealings and one of his pushers killed him. Besides, every guest thinks the security here is obsolete,” Fallon sighed. “Well that doesn’t matter right now. I need to refit the hotel. It’s going to take millions to renovate the damage.”

“I know.”

“Well, I just started to turn this place around, but we don’t have enough funds to even start paying the contractors.” Fallon walked over to Jeff and ran her fingers though his hair. “But you could help me out.”

“How?”

“Let me borrow against Denver Carrington funds.”

Jeff stood up. “No way, Denver Carrington is still in unstable condition, I could not approve any transfers. I’m sorry honey”

“That’s fine; if you won’t help me then I’ll do it myself.”

Jeff put his arms around her. “I didn’t say I wouldn’t help you, I just said I could not give you any of Denver Carrington’s capital. But I can check the major banks in the area, I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard for you to find a loan committee that will approve the funds.”

“I hope so…” Fallon said.

“Well, I have to get to the office, but I’ll start making some calls”

“Okay, darling, I’ll see you at home” Fallon smiled for the first time in days. Maybe things would start turning around, and when Miles was better she would employ his construction company to be the chief operator in La Mirages refit.

She walked over to her desk, and started looking over the papers that were in front of her when a man's voice startled her. “I see that I have arrived at just the right time.”

“Excuse me?” Fallon asked.

“I see you are in need of my assistance, Let me introduce myself my name is Roman Rameries, and I have an offer here that is going to brighten your day.”
